Very clean place, tasty food and a good staff
Awesome Teri sauce ????
So I wanted to give this place to try, as I'm always looking for an alternative to national Burger chains. What it comes down to is this at this place the burger itself takes like a premade off the shelf Burger that's been dipped n a salty teriyaki sauce. Not that bad but not that great either. The french fries we're out of the bag and into the fryer kind that you get at numerous other fast food joints in Hawaii. If I ever get the cravings for a another teriyaki burger I could easily find a better one at zippy's.
My observation:
When I read a menu that has a bold white background that is brightly lit and placed overhead where all patrons can unitedly read, I am surprised at my reaction of suddenly wanting to believe in the pictures--the promise of satisfaction and a decent meal. Unfortunately, a professionally edited picture of a burger was unjustified by the actual subject.
The cheese burgers I ordered looked picturesque, but lifeless. There were no tantalizing aroma from the patties and the steamed sesame seed buns. There was no juice oozing from my bitten burger patty and no taste to stand out from its accompanying components of ketchup, mustard, and thousand island. I could not hear the crunch from the dried out shredded lettuce and sliced tomato. At least the slice of pickle had crunch and nothing else.
My Rants and raves:
Pre-cooked and under seasoned patties is a challenging item to animate from a steam tray and then placed to stand out in a canvas of bread, lettuce, tomato, pickle, and condiments. I think the cook was set up to fail in the beginning just to meet the goal to shorten cooking time.
I just don't understand how the workers of this establishment can dedicate their time and effort to making this cheese burger.
