Secreted behind, and a little to the left of the Hau'ula Kai Shopping Center, Gords Smoke Prime Rib is a meat lovers gold mine. As an unabashed foodie, I was delighted to recently discover this one-man gastronomic treasure-trove, that offers, possibly the finest prime rib on the island. Having worked as butcher for more than twenty years, I know quality beef when I meet it, with prime rib always being my first choice… ‘and it don’t come prepared no betta’ than Gords Smoke Prime Rib.’ This is a guy that specializes in prime rib, and has gambled that if he can offer the finest prepared prime rib around…they will come. ‘Gords’ does not clutter up the menu with a deluge of fare. He has pared down his offerings to what he does best - slow smoked, perfectly done, prime rib…plus a couple of sides that he also does pretty well. Gords Smoke Prime Rib promises not to disappoint even the most discerning and discriminating meat lover’s palette. Five stars, for the unmatched offerings of this unassuming, little food truck diner. “Very friendly, helpful, took the time to tell us about all the food, gave us a taste of different salsas and the pineapple drink (really good). Bring in a water container and you can fill it for free. I plan on stopping by again this week before we leave the island. Price wasn’t crazy like someone else wrote. We paid 36$ with 20% tip and two taco plate orders and the full pineapple drink thing? Well worth the stop”

“Really friendly service, they offered us an umbrella in the rain, and were very nice and helpful. Food was tasty. We had the chicken and the spicy garlic shrimp. The shrimp was definitely the favorite- I would recommend that over the chicken although the chicken was also tasty”

“The Thai Food Express Truck recently moved from Punalu'u to the Kahuku Sugar Mill next to First Hawaiian Bank. The husband-wife owners and cooks still serve the best Thai food on Oahu. Wow, these guys are great! First of all, the owners and cooks are from Thailand, a husband and wife team. They love to cook and they love their customers and know them on a first name basis. I try to go here at least 2 times a month, I would go more often if they were a little bit closer. I am completely addicted to their yellow curry chicken plate. They have customized it for me by adding some carrots. I also like their shrimp fried rice but I can't eat both plates by myself. This is what Thai food should taste like (without wiping out your hard-earned money). Parking is very convenient.”

“I tried mild spicy garlic shrimps here and those were the most delicious shrimps me and my husband have ever had. We've had Giovanni's garlic shrimps the same day on our road trip and those were harder, not so juicy and not as delicious as Shrimp Shack's. Also, the ladies working here are super nice, there is no line and prices are lower. It's close to a shrimp farm so it's fresh and delicious. There are chairs and table on a beach across the street that you can sit on and inside seating area next to the truck. Definitely must try in Oahu.”
