Tanaka of Tokyo Central

I called earlier in the day to make a reservation because well, this is Waikiki! There are thousands of people here everyday and it was a Friday night! We got seated almost immediately after arriving. They have a huge space and it didn't look very busy!
Our waiter was Brandon. He was great and very attentive!! I decided to go with the ribeye and hubby did the sirloin and teriyaki chicken. Our chef was Anthony and he was great! There were two other people at our table and we all wanted garlic fried rice.
The salad dressing was excellent. Next came the grilled shrimp appetizer which was really good. My ribeye was moist and tender! Absolutely delicious! The garlic fried rice was superb! It's a wonder that all this food tasted so great with just salt and pepper!
Hubby's teriyaki chicken was good too. I didn't try his sirloin coz I was enjoying my ribeye so much but he said it was good!
The miso soup was served with the entree as per Japanese tradition and was really good. You could request it in the beginning of you wanted. Dessert was chocolate icecream that was yummy! I checked in on Yelp and got a 10% discount. I thought this place would be really expensive but it wasn't!
Definitely try it out!

Everything was Delicious and a awsome staff super nice and friendly. Very respectfull to my daughters food allergies. Thank you for a wonderful time .

Very friendly and energetic staff, idea of food being prepared in front of you very cool. Relaxing but still professional atmosphere. Food options; lots of meat, not great if vegetarian, all good here very good, not to pricey as well.

I have some lovely childhood memories of "showtime" teppanyaki restaurants that I visited in the US as a kid. Coming back now as an adult and watching the chef juggle salt and pepper shakers and flip shrimp into his pocket, I can say it's just as fun as it ever was!! It's so cheesy but I love it. The food is great as well. I ordered the Shogun special which comes with shrimp, scallops (too small), steak and a lobster tail. Pretty good value if you ask me. I also ordered the seared ahi which was very good. Service was also excellent and fast.
