An absolutely beautiful cozy Italian restaurant. The food is prepared with high standards. The menu is small, which keeps the quality top notch. Great Wine list that is extremely affordable. This place is perfect for anyone who appreciates authentic Italian food, as if you were in Italy.
Very unique dining experience and very accommodating to food allergies as well (wheat and seafood). The setting itself has great ambience, and the food is clearly made fresh and to order. Huge selections of libations, and the servers are very helpful in selecting the right one depending on your tastes.
5/5 I would definitely return and highly recommend Acanto!
Restaurant Week menu was good. Appetizer of truffle-infused ricotta on crostini with thin-sliced spicy sausage was delicious! Fish entree was on the small side but very nice. Large hazelnut mousse dessert topped off the prix fixe menu.
Acanto never disappoints: excellent food and service every time. They are constantly pushing themselves to create novel and delicious dishes while keeping the classics alive. The service is attentive without feeling overbearing. Overall, a neighborhood gem to come back again and again.
You’re missing out if you don’t at least come here once. Acanto was easily one of the highlight of my work trip to Chicago. Excellent choice for small groups from 2-6. Bruschetta and Spaghetti were some of the best I’ve had. Wonderful wine list with great cocktails for those who prefer no wine. Food made to order and fresh. Michelle, the manager, clearly does a great job with her team. The executive chef, unfortunately I did not meet or get his/her name, clearly knows how to make food an art (get location for those looking to view art at the institute and experience culinary art after). Carlos, our main waiter, as well as the rest of the supporting wait staff were attentive beyond belief - waters were filled after mere sips without your notice. Carlos gave excellent advice and knew the menu perfectly. Will be coming back to Chicago to come here soon and am recommending this to all my clients and friend coming to the city as well as the greater Chicago area. Unforgettable experience. Thank you to the executive chef, Michelle, and Carlos for making an evening out one for the books.
