The food presentation and service were good. The food itself was unmemorable considering the price of the entrees. The chef seemed to try hard to impress. The grilled octopus was so laden with different vegetables that the octopus was like a something to decorate the vegetables. Other dishes were also underwhelming. The only thing impressive about the place is that the view from the balcony is fantastic especially the view of the Millennium Park during the height of fall colors.
So incredibly delicious! Amazing views! If you're wanting food make sure you make a reservation. Dishes were on the lighter side of portions. Everything was so tasty! Would absolutely eat here again!
Good but not great. Pleasant atmosphere. We ordered two appetizers for our table. One came in a timely manner but we had to ask twice for the second one which finally came when our main course arrived. Receptionist checking our name for our reservation was very unfriendly. Food was just average, nothing that I will remember as wanting to come back. As others have said, a great view.
My sister and I stayed at the Chicago Athletic Association, which makes it easier to get reservations at Cindy's. A number of menu items are offered in half or full portions, making it easy to share items. First, we shared a half portion House salad, which was excellent and still quite large. Our main course was the full portion of the shrimp & grits. It was delicious, but included only 3 fairly large head-on shrimp - I thought that for $48, they could have put 4 so that we each could have had two. With one beer, dinner came to $70 - not bad for two.
Great view! I had made a reservation about a month prior to our arrival and we were placed on the couches facing the window overlooking the park. However, they let everyone stand on the terrace so our view was a ton of people’s backs. After eating we enjoyed another drink outside to take in the views. I wouldn’t suggest eating here and instead coming for one drink, taking in the views, and moving on. I still think it’s worth it!
