The Chicago Firehouse Restaurant

We live in the neighborhood and go in for Happy Hour often and "special occasion dinners". We are never disappointed by our experience. The service and atmosphere are fantastic and of course the food is some of the best around. Recently they celebrated National Margarita Day by offering some of the best tacos I've ever had. They did a halibut taco and a short rib taco that impressed this transplanted Arizonan. The corn tortilla was warm and slightly crispy and the halibut was lightly breaded and as fresh as can be. The short rib taco was also very tasty. I was also impressed by their salsa which is made in-house and had just the right amount of heat. I am hoping they offer these on their bar menu again soon as I don't want to wait for Margarita Day to roll around again to have a halibut taco that good, (and I don't think I'll find a better one in the meantime).

The atmosphere is nice but from a menu perspective very meat/dairy intensive. Not even a single plant-based option in their menu. They need to advance nowadays restaurants need to be very inclusive of younger and newest trends and get in the band wagon for healthier food options. They need staff and chef who are able to pull together great vegan/plant-based options.

Very nice place. We started at the bar were the drinks were great. Then off to dinner were we had one of the most tender steaks I ever had. The Cesar salad and the garlic mashed were also good. Our default desert is creme brulee. They infuse a tea (I think that is what they said) into it which made it over the top. The place was very expensive and probably something we would do once in a while but it was a great night.

Outstanding food. Wonderful service. Incredibly beautiful atmosphere. Great dinning experience. Can't wait to go back.

I really enjoyed my meal. Waiter was outstanding - prompt but not fawning. Was there for a business meeting and it was easy to have a conversation. Great place overall
