Great staff, allowed entrance on north side of the building for my friend with a cane. The menu is fun! Our server Jay has a great knowledge of the menu and the wine list. His recommendations we're right on. We have to return so we can try the next recommendations!

We were planning to spend a quiet evening at home for our anniversary but circumstances worked against us. Without a plan, or reservations, we decided to try out Make Room for Truman expecting to have a quick bite and go right back home. What a pleasant surprise.

The restaurant is sleek and modern without being fussy. The food is top notch yet reasonably priced. And the staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing. My wife had the prime rib. It was cooked perfectly and had a cup of real horseradish on the side - not that creamy, watered down stuff. I originally intended to have prime rib too but changed my mind when I saw the beef short rib on the menu. All I can say about that is wow. It was like a dessert for beef lovers. Drinks were generously poured. My wife ordered the smoked old fashioned. She said it was the best she’s ever had. For dessert we split the chocolate velvet cake with house made raspberry ice cream. OMG!

We now have a new favorite neighborhood restaurant. Can’t wait to go back.

The food is excellent. Our party had the chicken pot pie, carnivore grilled cheese, pork chop with asparagus and the filet for entrees. Everyone loved what they got. One of the entrees was about $27, the other $15. All of them were generous portions. Drinks at the bar were good too. The desserts were outstanding! I would definitely go there again.

This was the first dinner out I’ve had since losing my Dad last month. I heard about this place on WGN earlier in the week and was motivated by the discussion of Mac and cheese(my favorite). My husband and I had a 7pm reservation on Tuesday. We arrived and we’re seated promptly in the back area overlooking the kitchen Every seat in this restaurant is a great seat. Our waitress was Deanna . She was amazing and well informed. We had the cornbread(beyond words fantastic). My husband had the pork chop with scalloped potatoes And I had The Carnivore grilled cheese which I can honestly say it is the best grilled cheese I have ever ate and was made like none I’ve ever had. Of course I had the macaroni and cheese and it exceeded my expectations.. The service was impeccable. We finished off this lovely night with dessert. Of course we had the Truman. Perfect ending. This will be a regular stop for us. Thank you for such a wonderful experience when I needed it the most. See you soon

Very creative, indipired, homemade food and drink. Everything is unique and almost seems strange but was always delicious. All of the staff was friendly and helpful with any thing I needed.
The corn bread had a hint of green pepper but didn't bother me despite generally not liking green pepper. Definitely use the honey butter.
The Because We Can Burger was amazing - the cheese on top was perfectly gooey and flavorful. (I tackled it with a fork.)
The mashed cauliflower (with garlic) was delicious and an excellent consistency and texture. Personally, I wouldn't recommend 55 minute fries.
All of the drinks seemed popular - I enjoyed the 48 hour clarified milk punch. They do actually spend 2 days preparing a batch. It is very smooth and slightly sweet - it is not creamy since the milk is clarified but has a hint of milk taste (along with hints of all the other spices).
The Truman (sweet) didn't rock my world but I may have just been too full - it should be ordered to share. The toppings are served separately to allow you to top it yourself. The fudge sauce and cream cheese frosting were delicious and the berries looked very fresh.
Overall, highly recommended for a classy, but not too fancy dinner - perfect for cozy dates or small groups.
