“It is a crime in this day and age of cold, slick, trendy dining establishments that this gem has been basicly forgotten. Nestled within the business of Golf Road the neon sign truly stands out as the only monument of a truly different era in dining. When one enters into the Charcoal Oven it's as if one is transported back in time, to a more simpler and elegant time. When dining out was viewed as special. The room bleeds 1940's speakeasy/supper club, with a long corridor of wrap around booths. The food was excellent, freshly prepared meats, homemade breads and salad dressing. Prepared by a cook who personally presents them at your table. Stop taking your business to chain restaurants and save this precious piece of history. Definitely keeping on my list of returns.”

“The new team in the kitchen has really improved the menu! We wanted to try a bit of everything, since it was our first visit in years, so the adults shared a bunch of apps forgoing entrees. I would definitely do that again! Yum! The kids went for the burgers. Huge and super flavorful. The whole table was happy and stuffed. Portions were more than generous for the price. My only complaint would be the decor which is outdated and the service specifically at the register/host station. The team there wasn’t friendly and it’s weird to pay for an upscale meal at the register as opposed to the table. The process was clunky too, a calculator was involved. Our waitress though was attentive! No issues there!”

The Mongolian Beef and Szechuan Chicken were delicious, just the right amount of spiciness (I like spicy food but not insanely spicy). “If you're craving some shrimps and crab the BOILER is the place to go. They have a unique and delicious sauces to go with your food all in one bag. I was very satisfied with the taste of the food and for a very good reasonable price. And yes maybe the presentation of the food might not be the best in a bag. But nonetheless, these people knew how ridiculously good and messy it can be eating sea food with. That's why they give you a bag and paper to cover the table for no inconvienece. “So, so Delicious! Ah why don't I come here more? It's late (8:40pm.or later) freezing cold Friday night Hubs is brightly lit and warm inside. The staff are friendly (3 staff manning the front counter). I order the special 2 chicken kebabs over rice, a quarter of a baked seasoned slow cooked potato, a large portion of mixed vegetables, and a pita all for just under $10.00. My food was hot and so good. The chicken was not over cooked. Veggies were green beans, broccoli, and carrots perfectly cooked. I had enough veggies to share with my hubby. My husband ordered the skirt steak sandwich it came on toasted French bread. As he was munching away on it he said, "I'm going to have to remember this, I've got to get it again".”

They give a description of each food offered on the menu and will help you decide which one would be best for you. It is BYOB (which I didn't know until we got here). My only draw back is that there's no kid menu/options. The fried rice and egg rolls were perfect for them but they also wanted soup, which they don't offer in a kids size. They did offer to give us smaller bowls to share our soups with them which was even better! The decor is beautiful, it felt like we were at home instead of at a restaurant. Very cozy with lots of room. We were a group of 9 and even though there were other diners there, it didn't feel like it because they didn't crowd everyone together. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!”
