Strange Bird

My husband and I moved to Indy (from Chicago) not long ago, and I am so excited to share that tonight we discovered our new favorite restaurant. Oysters, fancy cocktails, and other delicious rotating menu items, all with a super casual ambience. As in paper trays and plastic forks, y’all!

This place was exactly what we were looking for to celebrate our 13 year anniversary, and I love that it was delicious, fun, etc., and yet, super accessible and affordable for any night out. Not having to go downtown for fresh, raw oysters is a HUGE plus.

Ian was our server and he was exceptionally friendly, knowledgeable, and even passionate about his job. Just wow. Excited to stumble upon it! Pretty sure we’ll be regulars in no time.

My sisters and I went for a spontaneous evening out, and we loved it. The manager Al cultivated a great ambiance, and the owner came out to personally explain the oysters we ate (and he had shucked!) for our happier hour. Even in 90+ degree heat, the patio was a perfect summer dig with its umbrellas and breeze. The drinks were also phenomenal!

The painkiller was too good. The food was all really weird and really delicious!! Loved their location too. Cute neighborhood, plenty of parking.

There's a reason this place has 4.9 rating on google. It's one of my favorite bars in the city - delicious high quality tiki drinks, fantastic beer selection, fun bartenders, and a great food menu. (The Love Handle crew helped with the menu) Can't wait til they reopen inside. It's got the coolest vibe. Glad they're in the neighborhood!

This place is definitely an experience. They have many things to choose from. I got the tenderloin and the popper dog. I liked them both. The drinks were good and so were the desserts. The rum cake was the best dessert. The cheeseburgers got away from the cook on the grill and was a bit burnt for the others in our group. The wings were wonderful. All in all definitely check this place out.
