“New owners just opened it back up. Nice Irish pub atmosphere. We are longtime patrons, about once a month. The 4th street cruise was on, we sat outside to watch. Ema was our waitress and did an awesome job. The fish platter and chicken tenders were good. Drinks were good except for bloody Mary's were mediocre and over priced. It's always been a good place to meet friends, check it out.”

“This my one of favorite restaurant in Cedar falls. The store is cleaning. We had very amazing dining experience! 🤗 The team is so friendly and nice to introduce their food to us. The poke bowl is very fresh, you could taste all the prefect Seasoning. The beef is tender and juicy. My friend and also love the Hawaii Mac Salad.”

“Other than being pricey I thought it was pretty good. The jalapeño wontons were very good, sweet potato tots and cheese curds were delicious, fried chicken sandwich was on the thin side but still good.”

“We’re from Texas and when we saw they were opening a Five Guys in Cedar Falls we were excited! It was packed, being newly opened, so we ordered our burgers to go. We love their messy smash burgers, so fresh and full of flavor. We always order our fries without salt because sometimes the fries can get salty. Just ask and they make them fresh without salt. So good!”

“great atmosphere and food. Ordered the Bacon Jam Burger. Normally not a big fan of horseradish but the horseradish mayo they have with it blends really well with the meat, pickles, and gouda cheese. highly recommend.”

“Service and food was excellent! My party got a mushroom and olive pizza, a kids pizza, and a taco salad and loved all of it. Our server was amazing too, so friendly and attentive! I sadly can't recall her name but she was a young woman with long brown hair in a braid.”

“Chef Clint Goodman makes tasty food in a genre hard to find in Cedar Falls. He personally explains the special ingredients when serving. This is inside Second State Brewing where the beers are always great. Tonight we tried the French Onion Soup and Gocaujang Honey wings.”

“The food is delicious. The only complaint is usually the big acai bowl locations have delicious burritos, but this location does not have that option.”

“Timing is everything!! When I arrived and saw I was the only one I confidently sat in a booth. I didn’t know what to expect, but knew I was hungry for fajitas. I ordered the Fajitas Texanas while enjoying the chips and homemade salsa. The place was well kept and had a feel like a family-owned restaurant. The service was professional, prompt and friendly. I like patronizing small businesses and had hoped this place would “make it”. No later than my fajitas came out the place began to fill up. Every table was full in a matter of seconds and chairs had to be rearranged to seat some parties. Well, more than likely them “making it” isn’t going to be an issue (See pic). Seems I came at just the right time! I like to patronize small businesses and at first I had hoped this one would last, but seeing and experiencing the loads of people coming in and enjoying themselves, it was pretty clear they had been there before and know a good restaurant when they see one. I highly recommend.”

“Our first time here since the kitchen opened. One of a kind type of place. With live music ongoing and a wide variety of drink options what’s not to love! The food was spectacular and the service was great. Bryan seems to have found a unique way around the workforce challenges requiring waitstaff! Get there!!!!”

“Man we need more barbecue joints like this. I met the owner and tasted his ribs tips which are hard to find anywhere in Waterloo, Iowa. I live in local Hudson, Iowa and I will be back here any day over going to Famous Dave’s…. 1st Base BBQ is the real deal and flavor, finally a real barbecue joint. To the owner I recommend you add catfish to your menu, then you will have Waterloo on lockdown. So stop by, I recommend this place for good eats.”
