After church today, Pam insisted we have our lunch at the Texas Roadhouse in Altoona. My meal, pictured, has been my hands down all time favorite, the herb encrusted chicken, a sweet potato and a salad with the Roadhouses own in house made Italian dressing. As per usual the chicken was wicked tender, so much so it was effortless to cut and just melted in my mouth, I won't even begin to describe the deliciousness of the herbs. The sweet potato had a wee dollop of marshmallow and a bit of brown sugar sprinkled over it. The potato melted in my mouth, pretty much no need to chew.
Pam ordered a steak, medium, but it came to the table a bit too rare, the waitress took it back, but when returned, it was well done, Pam made no fuss and just opted to go ahead and eat it. Wasn't but just a few minutes, the manager appeared at our table, apologizing and ask if Pam would like another, again she said she was fine, then he gave us a coupon, comping us for two meals the next time we come in, we were stunned. I know this restaurant takes customer satisfaction deadly serious, but we were both totally blown away by this unexpected surprise. I can't say enough good about the Texas Roadhouse in Altoona, this is obviously a very well run establishment that takes customer satisfaction to a whole new level. I for sure wouldn't want to own a restaurant and be in competition with them.

Ordered to go, forgot the condiments, and had to turn around, (at least they called me). When I got home, I realized they forgot my ribs. They were polite and helpful when I called. Food was great, as always, which is why we keep going back. Every one has a bad day, so we will continue to go there. The food is worth it.

We did make reservations to this fairly recent open Texas Roadhouse for Monday night at 6:15pm.The restaurant was very busy. They got us in at our time and were greeted by friendly staff from the time we walked through doors. Staff followed us to our seat with fresh rolls as soon as we were seated. We had a very awesome server who made the experience even better. Our food was so tasty, from my salad to my country fried steak. The grandkids enjoyed steak tips and mini burgers. My son said his steak was perfectly cooked. Mango margarita was fabulous We will definitely visit often.
