Mullets Uptown Ankeny: Great Rooftop Vibes, But Plastic Cups?

Mullets Uptown Ankeny has a fantastic rooftop bar! The atmosphere was perfect for our sunny evening - relaxed and enjoyable. The service was friendly and attentive. Here's the thing though - the drinks come in plastic cups, which felt a bit cheap. Luckily, the water came in reusable aluminum cups, so we were able to use those for our mules.

We haven't tried the food at this location yet, but the dishes we saw looked amazing, especially the hot Nashville chicken sandwich. That'll definitely be our order next time! Overall, a great spot for rooftop drinks with a view, but be prepared for the plastic cups if you want a drink on the rooftop...

Staff was friendly and food was great. First time there and it was for a business meeting. They gave us time before ordering without interrupting us, but took the order when we were ready and food came quick. Try the nachos, they were very good and a large portion. Lots of seating at 4pm before the dinner rush. Simple menu with lots of good looking items.

Here's the positive! The staff was great! Food was really just below average. I don't want to detail everything because maybe it was just a bad night. But the atmosphere was too bright. Uncomfortable 100 watt spotlights shining right in your eyes from every angle it seemed.

Hope it's better next time I visit

I got a Bloody Mary and the Eggs Benedict flight. Next time I’ll probably just get the Burnt Eggs Benedict. It was a phenomenal and really stood out. My only complaint is the plates don’t have any weight and slide a lot when you’re cutting your food. Great place and atmosphere!
