“We were driving through Des Moines and were searching for a coffee shop - Zanzibar's stood out as a great place to try and we were so glad we stopped here!! Incredible mocha breve and sweet cream coffee - my only regret is that I didn't order multiples!! The flavor of the beans were crafted and curated so well - I wish we lived closer because this place would be a staple for us if we lived in the Des Moines area. Oh, and did I mention the banana bread?? Seriously amazing - some of the best I've ever had - great flavor, wasn't dry, and a substantial sized slice. The place was packed out too, so you knew from the start that it was a great place. The baristas were focused yet friendly and I felt comfortable asking questions if needed. The next time we're in the area, we'll definitely be back and I'll know to double up on my order too!”

“Being a small town girl, and after having just a rough day and after getting lost, but finally making it to the destination to get some Starbucks 😂 they were all so kind. It really made my day. My drink was made perfect and I'm super picky and all my drinks aren't on the the menu so they really have to listen and they did great. My drink was made perfect, the service was great. I'd definitely recommend this Starbucks and I'd definitely come back if I'm ever in the big city”

“Tried this little small business for brunch this morning and we were very impressed. I highly recommend the farmers eggs with a little hot sauce, I added mushroom and jalapeno and they didn't even add any cost to my meal for it. Our waitress was handling a room full of customers with grace and efficiency. Coffee was good, the biscuits and gravy my husband ordered was good. We were shocked at how economical our little date out was at the end. We can't wait to go back!”

“This is my favorite McDonalds in all of Des Moines. My safe place, if you will. There are 2 women that work here that are just phenomenal. They call me sweetheart and honey and I love them so much. Food is always hot and fresh, and my order is always right. They never let me down!”

“Wonderful place for the perfect snack while the kiddos play. I was also so thankful that they were some of the coupons from the local libraries summer reading program. The kids were so happy to get their own pretzels after all their hard work reading!”

“This Bruegger’s is always fresh and amazing. Today (12/14) I went to have breakfast here, and a guy makes Chad made my experience amazing. He is the type of worker this world needs. He is the type of person that keeps me coming back. His service is unparalleled, and knows the true meaning of customer service. Keep it up Chad! Hopefully your manager sees this and gives you a raise, because you most definitely deserve it!”

“There is no greater honor than setting foot in the sacred halls of the one true heaven that is McDonald's and there is no greater bliss than that which a single bite of McDonald's can achieve.”

“This Caribou has been a mainstay in our community and the Ingersoll neighborhood for years. The baristas are friendly and make everything right the first time. The atmosphere is cozy, welcoming, and warm. I love this place for hanging out solo or meeting a friend for a warm cup of coffee or tea.”

“Really warm and comfy atmosphere. The dine in can’t fit up to 45 people. Plenty of space but when it’s the rush hour, you might have to come in early as there will be a line. Trust me, the food is worth the wait :) The food being serve here are delicious (specially for the affordable price), you have to try out their Waveland’s beat skillet! It’s delicious and well season! It’s a decent size for one person serving but not to worry cause you can always order anything you want in the menu half the size. My favorite food here is their hash brown, it’s golden brown crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle, super delicious ! There limit parking on the front of the dine in but you can park on the street. It’s usually a very short walk to the restaurant. It’s a family friendly restaurant and the waitresses here are super friendly and sweet. If you have any questions at all they will have the answer waiting for you. They serve they food hot and fast! If you’re hungry, there won’t be a long wait right after placing your order. Hope you enjoy this dining restaurant!”

“Food was hot at 11:50pm at night. I had to wait, but it was worth it! Better than Applebee’s steak meal I had the other night! Thanks for making my new year great. I got a double cheeseburger no cheese, extra onion, add mayo, add lettuce. Medium fry. And double deluxe quarter pounder with cheese no mustard no tomato.”

“Good breakfast bagels but as a sort of tourist it was confusing to find. If you’re visiting and wanting to come here to eat, enter the building with the Burger King and go up to the second floor. When you go up, you will see a single corridor (skywalk) go the opposite direction. Keep walking and the restaurant will be on the left. The sandwiches are hot and they have caribou coffee.”

“This place is one of the few places in Des Moines that has CONSISTENTLY great food and service. Clean beautiful restaurants. The owner and his wife are local and some of the coolest people you will meet. I go here often and so do people I introduce to their restaurants. You wont be disappointed. If you appreciate good food you owe it to yourself to try St. Kilda!”

“St. Kilda has some great eclectic dishes. We went for breakfast I had the breakfast tacos which were delicious. My husband had the "cubano" sandwich... we are from South Florida and he said that sandwich could compete with the Cuban sandwiches back home. Definitely, high praise from him... go try it and let us know what you think!”

“Panera is always a good standard pit stop for a nice lunch that isn't FAST FOOD! We were in town for soccer, between games and wanted something that wouldn't just be a gut rot for our players. The salads and soups are a sure bet to fill you up and are always generous in their portion size. Not the first and certainly not the last Panera that we'll visit! Delicious breads and pastries to eat in or take out. Soups, salads, sandwiches. All in a pleasant downtown environment across the street from the Hotel Fort Des Moines.”

“Always a great experience here. Sometimes there’s a little of a wait but that’s because it’s a smaller coffee shop that is crazy busy. I’ll wait a little longer for great service. They always prepare a puppy latte without me even asking as well. Just great service with every employee i’ve encountered and I go here several times a week.”
