“Yesterday, a friends car had died and she was able to get the car into Thornton’s parking lot. It was a hot 90+ degree day. She had it explained to the staff that it was in the parking lot and she was told as long as it isn’t blocking pumps or gas fill spots, it was ok. The staff was very friendly and understanding. I was replacing her alternator on the down car which took so much longer than anticipated. 3 hrs to be exact. We were about half way along and the staff had sent an employee, Sean, out with 4 big cups of ice water. It may not sound like much but it was such a huge gesture and we appreciated it immensely. Thank you Thornton’s staff for the hospitality and the generosity. It really did make a difference.”

Attention to detail was paid, especially all of the woodwork in the bar area. I’ve been to several Mexican restaurants in the area and I’m excited that Mario and Luis have brought this one to our side of town. It’s nothing short of amazing and you must try it! Try out the Margarona and the Is Special (chicken, cheese, rice). That’s my go to combo and they always nail it.”

This is my second time eating here, and I got the same thing both times because it’s so good! I didn’t manage to get a picture of my food the first time, because I dug in first thing. This is not your typical crunchy granola vegan joint. I feel like anyone can be pleased here, because the food is just straight up tasty. The mac-n-cheese is the bomb, so creamy and comforting. Better than the vegan mac I can make at home! The Nashville hot fried chicken sandwich is just what you’d expect, and perfectly seasoned. Next time I’m making sure to order something different, because I’m excited to try more of the menu!”

“This is one of Louisville’s new gems. I have been to many of the new, high-caliber restaurants in Louisville, and none of them have surprised me more than Couvillion. The atmosphere is laid back and welcoming, and the service is to match, with a southern hospitality feel. The cocktail menu and beer list was full of local delights, and homemade concoctions. All reasonably priced, we enjoyed a couple while waiting for appetizers. Speaking of, all of their appetizers are top notch. You really can’t go wrong with any of them. The Smoked Cornbread, and Saltine Platter are a must (the Spicy Jam...ugh). For entrees, the Duck Creole was absolutely sublime. The Ricotta Dumplings as part of this are genius. The house-made Jambalaya w/ Shrimp was made amazing by the way the shrimp were perfectly cooked. For sides, the Brussels Sprouts, christened with hot sauce and fried...heavenly. Can’t recommend this place enough, and can’t wait to come back.”
