Capital City Grill is such a great local restaurant that serves up wonderful cuisine inspired by Cajun country. The food is always fresh, hot and flavorful. The drinks are ice cold and delicious. The wait staff is friendly, courteous and efficient. I've had several different items on this menu and they are all just perfect. Kudos to the management and servers for keeping this place running smoothly and most-importantly SAFELY during this COVID-19 pandemic! Great job CCG! Keep it up!

Staff was very friendly and the food was great! A couple of friends went there for our dinner before prom, and we were not disappointed! I had the Steak and Mac with an extra side of fries. The steak was cooked to perfection and I gotta say I really love shoestring fries!

Capital City Grill - 100 Lafayette St, Baton Rouge, La

    Server: Sarah

First, Let me just say I was looking for something good to eat while I was downtown and decided to give this place a try. Really glad I did. I don't think they noticed me at first when I came because it was the first day most places were opening because of the pandemic. In any case I promptly greeted and taken to my table.

The vibe was very relaxing and easy going. My server, Sarah was so nice and attentive. She made sure I had my beverage filled and constantly checked on me to see how well I was enjoying my food. Very good service.

Even the manager came to see how I was doing TWICE and he was very polite and nice while offering suggestions on different items from the menu. More excellent service.

As a first timer, this was highly important to me and thus added to this 5- star review. Whenever I visit these places I make sure to take note of how attentive the staff is while I'm being served.

The atmosphere of the place had a rather chill groove. The music was mostly older tunes that made the mood very smooth but cheery while you ate. I mean we're by the Mississippi River, so it had its moments of I wanna dance, but I'm eating right now.

Okay, so let's talk about the food. It was all good and the portions were great. My server, Sarah, offered me a few suggestions that really topped of my expectations, this was a cheat meal for me, which after visiting Capital City Grill turned into a big win. My Southwestern Pasta tasted good and had a slight kick accented by the cilantro sprinkled throughout. The chicken was tender and grilled perfectly. Everything was consistent and tasty and I love the portion size which great.

My mozzarella wedges with sauce were good. I remember looking at them and thinking...What am I about to get myself into today....I knew it would be good and surely, it was.

I even called someone and told them about the food, so restaurants should be aware the customers like me do tell others about the service. Sometimes I'll do it while waiting between dining. Good or Bad. I'm blunt about it.

OMG! The chocolate chip with the vanilla ice cream on top!!! I said I was full and still kept eating it. It was so good!! Like seriously, with the chocolate drizzled all over with this oozing, but never sloppy spread of perfection, please take my money...

To finish up this review of Capital City Grill, I will say that I had an enjoyable first time, the staff were all friendly, the service was timely, the atmosphere was pleasant and the food was excellent.

Perfect getaway for a personal treat,a party of two & even quite a few.

    I'll come back again soon!

    JJ.

We visited Capital City Grill on a Saturday evening and made sure to check the closing time, 10:30pm, before we arrived since it was a bit late-9:00pm. There was a large party finishing up and another table was seated after us, so we didn’t feel bad about it being too late.

We ordered drinks and I had my heart set on something small like an appetizer of fried green tomatoes! Unfortunately, the tomatoes came out soaked in a melted sauce that made the breading soggy and unappetizing. I was able to eat one that was resting on top, but the others I couldn’t eat and the breading fell off. The really nice server took the appetizer off of my bill, so I was thankful for that great customer service. Our table ordered the seafood pasta and grilled chicken dinner. Both meals were ok, but we felt that the quality of the dish didn’t match the prices.

The restaurant was really nice and cozy, clean bathrooms and a really friendly server. I would go back and try again during a lunch hour.

What a blast! Great place to meet with friends on a Friday evening and be able to have a nice conversation, it's not too loud but great atmosphere. This place has excellent service and food. Highly recommend the tuna. It also has an excellent location close to rue Lafayette .
