Went on a Sunday afternoon and boy did I have a great time. This place is fantastic. Amazing atmosphere, service is incredible, live music was on point, both food and beers were top tier. This can easily be one of the best spots around. Highly recommended. It is kid friendly.
The atmosphere of this place alone is five stars! You feel like you are in a German pub!!
The counter service lady was unapproachable and unpleasant; her energy was distant. Maybe it was a ruff day...the beer and the bratwurst made up for it. Looking forward to returning to sample the sides and beer selection!
This is a really cool place in the Bywater. The outdoor seating is filled with fans and picnic tables. There is also a bike rack inside the outdoor space which is really convenient for diners. As for the food— I tried the pork shank several weeks ago and I wasn’t too crazy about it. The meat was on the drier side, but I would like to give it another shot. On my most recent visit I got the Nola schnitzel sandwich and warm potato salad. They were both tasty and fresh. I would definitely come here if you’re craving some German fare.
I checked this place out for their opening weekend and over the years it has turned into a nice spot to enjoy a German style beer garden. They have expanded the menu some to offer more interesting items and really do a nice menu during Oktoberfest time. I am disappointed they don't offer veal or venison schnitzel. They have some appetizer snacks like pretzels and such and usually have a small but decent dessert menu. Overall this is a good addition to the neighborhood but I still really hope they expand the schnitzel offerings and maybe keep some of the expanded Oktoberfest menu offerings as part of their full time menu.

Best German food outside Bavaria. I've eaten tons of authentic German food in Germany and I was impressed. Coupled with great German beer and service it is a place that you will want to visit over and over.
