“The pancakes might be to some folks liking...but not mine. In my opinion, pancakes and waffles should be light & fluffy and slightly sweet. You shouldn't have to add syrup if you don't want to. Their pancakes were doughy and heavy and a little thick. No sweetness whatsoever. So the server swapped it out for a "half waffle" and much to my dismay, it was the same. On the good side, my eggs were scrambled to perfection! The bacon is top quality apple wood, thick sliced and full of smoky flavor and the hash brown were the standard fare, but decent. I hope they correct the batter issue, cause I'll be back.”

“Scrumptious food and impeccable service. The shrimp cocktail is impressive, served in a large dish with crushed ice. Biggest shrimp I have ever seen, correctly steamed and chilled, not overcooked. Steaks were precisely cooked exactly as we requested them. Still sizzling, not overly salted as most places are. Everything was delicious. A great place to go to celebrate.”

“Excellent service, food, and beer. Stopped by with a friend and tried the sampler appetizer as well as the two sausage and cabbage entrees. We each got a different type of sausages and tried them all. Absolutely delicious! The smoked sausages were my favorite for sure. Also was able to get 34oz beer mugs and never ran out of a drink the whole time we were there. I'll definitely be back!”

“The venue is ok. The sound is fine. The music started on time and we waited long to order food. They had a minimum $20 order. After waving to a few folks asking to take our orders we gave up. After and hour someone asked if we wanted to order we did. We got the food but didn't get our drinks until after we finished our food. We had to change one of the drinks and we got a bottle beer than the draft version which is completely different for Guinness. Anyway we went to see the band but when you have a minimum order with a minimum service charge of 18% it is not fair. I gave my feedback to the wait staff.”

“Great food, they fill the containers to the edge. I'd recommend calling ahead as they can get a little distracted with walk-in orders, it is a takeout place after all. They do have seating if you need but the focus is definitely to go. They're definitely busy during lunch so don't expect too much interaction. Towards dinner they relax a bit and you can have a good laugh with broken English.”

“The concept is perfect. An outdoor beer garden in busy Bethesda. Service is excellent, the selection fine, but it seems a bit thrown together. The beer comes from the main bar inside, with the exception of a couple choices outside. Not a problem, but it underscores the temporary feel of the spot. Almost like it's a pop-up beer garden. Maybe that is the goal? Suggestions: the tables are often scummy. Essentially picnic style tables under trees. So sweep them off throughout the day. And maybe an outdoor TV or two? ”

“It is a good place, stuff are helpful and friendly. The price is above average. Even though they serve Gluten Free options, their kitchen is small and they do not have separate toaster for the bun. However, they helped me by giving me their plastic wrapped gluten free bun with out toasting it, and their gluten free cream chowder, and green bowel with the three combination in the top with gluten free source. I would give 4 stars if they have a separate preparation area for GLUTEN OPTIONS PREPARATION!!”

When I walk up to the counter and ask for a protein smoothie and they say to me we don't have any more protein or we don't have any more bananas or milk, I feel like someone asking for chicken at popeyes and there is no chicken. It gets worse when they then go on to tell me "we're asking customers to bring their own. " This is pretty ridiculous and it happens regularly.”

Please come on a Friday night and if you are insanely lucky you will be served by Justin, easily the funniest and most helpful server in the world. “The Barking Dog is a wonderful place to stop for a drink and some grub. I had an amazing chili cheese dog with onion rings that were out of this world! Even after 3-4 beers my bill was surprisingly low. I loved the place so much that I returned the next day. The barkeep not only remembered my name but my drink of choice as well. The ambiance is relaxed, friendly, and great for groups or solo. Definitely check this place out. You will not regret it!”
