El Mercat Bar de Tapas

Lovely restaurant in a cozy space. I must say the service was very attentive and friendly, and the chef himself served us our food a few times. Excellent value for the price, especially at Happy Hour, which is often not the case in Spanish restaurants. I recommend the setas! Did not get any paella this time, but will for sure come back!

El Mercat is full of flavor, a great atmosphere, friendly staff. I was so excited to try this new restaurant in Rockville. Trust me, it didn't disappoint .. the food is amazing and the drinks are good. Its definitely going to be my new go to place!

Stopped in for happy hour yesterday, and I can’t recommend this place enough! Amazing happy hour menu, everything that came out tasted incredible! Great drinks, awesome atmosphere, great service, the whole 9! Do yourself a favor and Go check it out!! U won’t be disappointed.

Food lacks wow factor/creativity. How difficult is it to make a nice looking pan con tomate? A thin layer of tomato salsa on a quartered baguette accompanied by old dried olives is not a way to honor the Spanish culinary tradition. Nothing I ordered last night was something I wanted to eat again. If the team does not work on immediately improving the quality and presentation of their dishes, the restaurant will be gone within less than a year.

This place is amazing! From the delicious tapas down to the cute decor, El Mercat delivers great service and delicious food. The tapas are the perfect size and are packed with flavor. The bartender mixes tasty drinks ranging from the standard favorites to the trendy and unique concoctions. Servers are attentive and fast! You must give this place a try, you're sure not to be disappointed!
