The Hotel Salem

The hotel is centrally located among all the shops, restaurants, tours and historical spots. The bed is beyond comfortable and the shower tiles are gorgeous. The staff are friendly and helpful.
BUT, whoever was the designer most definitely failed the functionality course. The doors on the toilet and the shower room are barn doors that don’t close fully. My fingers got squashed multiple times. The barn door to the toilet doesn’t open fully and you have to be anorexically thin to be able to squeeze through to use the toilet. Trying to get through I smashed by shoulder so badly that it was hurting for days and turned black and blue.
There’s no parking and you have to find your own. Once you do find parking you have to walk through cobblestone streets with your luggage. The room we reserved was supposed to come with a twin trundle bed but when we checked in it was not in our room.

My friend and I went for her birthday weekend. We had fun, the front staff is amazing! So friendly and helpful. The rooftop bar was perfect. I will definitely make sure to stay there again!

Cute hotel. We stayed in one of the micro king rooms, which was perfect for us since we weren't going to be spending much time in the room anyways. Amazing location right in the center of everything. Only complaint is that the bathroom smelled like mildew and the shower had draining issues, so we were standing in three inches of water every time we showered.

Had a very enjoyable stay at the Hotel Salem. Front desk staff was very friendly and took time to explain the parking situation to us before we arrived. Hotel entrance is right at the heart of Essex St - which is only pedestrian traffic. There is a parking lot the block behind and a lot of side street parking, as well. The hotel has a modern vibe - our room was very nice, clean and aesthetically pleasing. The shower was amazing! You couldn't ask for a more convenient location. In our down time, I loved sitting at the large windows in our room that looked down on Essex St. The rooftop bar was a nice surprise - the views were awesome and we even had a rainbow!

The front desk staff is so friendly, especially Olivia. She went above and beyond to help my friend surprise my husband and I for our anniversary. Her customer service was excellent and the hotel should be happy to have such a nice person working for them. The room was wonderful and the bed was really comfy. We loved the rooftop bar as well. We’ll be back for sure. 10/10.
