“Friendly staff. A very diverse menu, there’s an option for every taste and every whim, from breakfast, to lunch and desserts. Payment is cash only, no debit or credit cards are taken, but there’s an ATM conveniently located in front of the shop which takes a $3.50 for every withdrawal. Service was quick and food was good. Didn’t get to try the ice cream or the milkshakes, but all the desserts I saw looked very tasty.”

“The dough for the pizza is absolutely fantastic. I find it very rare in this area to get a good dough that's salted properly, but they do a great job. Toppings are fresh. Clearly everything is made in-house. Friendly. Absolutely delicious. They import their flour from Italy... It's little details like that that make a place like this stand out. I will definitely be back. The fact that it's only a 7 minute walk from my house is going to be a bit of a problem.”

“Great little restaurant. Good food, friendly staff, quiet enough to carry on a conversation without shouting but enough energy so you don’t feel like you are the only people in the place. I would recommend for a casual lunch or dinner with close friends.”

“Prime example of a business that sticks to doing what they know best, and doing it at the highest standards. Never been disappointed with a single meal. Not only is the food amazing but they have their system down pat. You walk in for a few slices of pizza, one guys heating it up, ones ringing your order in and the other is chatting with you. This is the way Boston pizza joints should be! I refuse to buy pizza anywhere else in the area.”

“Great hideaway with very reasonable seafood cooked to order. Better quality than many places that are twice the price. Haven't bought any fish to take home, but it's fairly priced and looks good.”

“A wonderful blend of traditional and modern atmosphere coupled with a fantastic wait staff who goes above and beyond to make you feel at home. The food was great (especially the roasted potatoes). The only issue I had was that there was no bartender and noone knew how to make the mixed drinks. Other than that this was a great dining experience.”

“Good food. Juicy burger, and perfectly medium rare just like I asked for! Good desserts. Reasonable prices! Good homely service. Taking one point off just because it was pretty warm and they didn't have a/c on. I was getting pretty sweaty down there.”

“This place has a great atmosphere! I really liked their specials, I thought the 2 mini sliders were great. I will definitely come back soon!”

“This is a great place for a quick, standard, diner breakfast. There's not a lot of seating. There's no bathroom. You can order from your table or the counter. It's absolutely no-frills, and it's delicious. The prices are really good (like, REALLY really good), and they're always friendly and service is quick as a whistle. I was only going to give 4 stars, as is my habit, but Eddie's is truly, exactly, what it is. Enjoy!”

“Hidden Gem. This spot in Newton does not pop out from the street view, but the food more than makes up for it. I love this spot and enjoy trying all of the different menu options. I would highly recommend and try to visit as often as possible. Friendly staff that love their work.”

“Welcoming employees. Free endless breadsticks. Comfortable atmosphere. Prices are a bit high, but expected for any classic Italian restaurant. Love to treat myself here when I can. Recommend for anyone visiting the area.”

“I walked in with my girlfriend after a night of drinking craving an egg, sausage, and cheese bagel with a bagel with cream cheese on the side. There was a line but not too bad. However, I saw the panic in the eyes of the teenage employees that betrayed their inexperience. A woman in a cut off shirt who did not have the body for a cut off shirt ordered 4 bagels. The older man in front of me asked what every topping was and talked at the poor teenage girl about when he was her age. She laughed with a pained expression on her face. This alone seemed to be too much for this cohort of high school employees yet they took my and my girlfriend's order and then later the orders of people after us despite not finishing the tasks at hand. I lay out what I want for the breakfast sandwich with cool efficiency. I am about to add on the bagel with cream cheese when she turns away and starts talking to another employee. Not two seconds later, the girl asked me, "Wait, what did you want again?" I recount my sandwich order and am once again cut off before I can ask for the side bagel. I will catch her in a second. Nope. There is a mess of bagels being thrown around, eggs being slapped on griddles and panic in the air. The customer has no sway in this dominion, only Chaos reigns here. I get called over by the cashier before I could ask for my much craved second bagel. I mention this to the cashier and she inquires about it in a tone that says "What do you want me to do about it?" At that point I knew that it was a fool's errand to ask for the bagel now. I was correct, as I often am. It took a while for my breakfast sandwich to emerge and the bagel would have compounded that. Somehow I beat my girlfriend's sandwich despite similar orders and her ordering first. Reading this, you are probably wondering why I gave the Bagel Place 3 stars. When I finally ate the sandwich, it was very good. In fact it was great! Also the last time I went I had a much better customer experience. So the groundwork is there. If I based this review solely on the first experience it would be an easy 5. However, for the love of all that is holy, if you see any sort of line or see the baby faced employees panicking, consider going somewhere else.”
