The restaurant just recently opened and they're clearly struggling with some staffing issues which led to a wait, but they were upfront and apologetic about this. More importantly, the food was amazing. Often when you go out for breakfast it seems like the same food anywhere you go. But Ames St Cafe's menu, while small, is quite special. The breakfast burrito was the best we had ever had. The banana bread french toast was creative and a so delicious. The breakfast potatoes were excellent. And the sausage was full of flavor, unlike most bland breakfast sausage. My kids loved the pancakes and french toast on the kids menu. Bring a little patience and give them a try - you'll be glad you did.

Absolutely delicious! The best eggs benedict I've had. They use focaccia bread which is genius and a perfectly poached egg (not easy). The potatoes and coffee were also spot on. The servers were so kind and efficient despite a full house and a new system (only a couple days into opening). So excited for our new breakfast spot and hoping they will be here year round for the locals, especially since there's nothing else open here in the winter 🤞Thank you!

Wonderful eggs benedict! The ham was thin sliced, eggs poached perfectly and served on house made focaccia bread. Service was wonderful and they allowed me to make a substitution. My pancake was great too.
Make sure you try the house potatoes... New potatoes boiled, smashed, frozen then deep fried. Delicious!
    We will be back!
