Their prices are high but the quality is high. Service is great too. “Visited here for the first time. When we arrived, we were informed that because of a large party that arrived before us, we may experience a delay in our food being served. We appreciated the honesty, however, because of our server's (her name is Just) attentiveness, we didn't feel we waited long at all. When the food arrived, we were impressed with the portion size. Taste was outstanding. The fries were freshly cut. The perch was seasoned well and hot. My son's steak was comes to his preference and seasoned well. Every member of my family loved what they ordered. At the end of our meal, my family wondered why we didn't come here earlier during our vacation. Next time we come to the Empire/Glen Arbor/Honor area, the Platte River Inn will be a regular stop. Thank you for the outstanding experience and great food!”

“The first time I stepped in it was a Friday around 5pm and there wasn’t a seat in the house so we moved on. Second try was a Wednesday around 9pm and the joint was completely empty. Felt bad keeping the staff around but they were all accommodating and friendly. Just had drinks and an appetizer. Mozzarella sticks were good, they are the breaded (opposed to battered) which I prefer these days but seem more unusual for whatever reason. Will definitely be back soon for a full meal.”

“The sandwich I ate, Tripoli, was delicious. However, the tables were not cleaned off nor were any staff seen from behind the counter. The ordering, picking up, paying process seems like it could be simplified as we had to stand in line three times: to order, to pick up food, then finally to pay. Each time the line and wait was longer. This was with only half the seats being used. I can't imagine what the wait would be when busy and full. My wife also saw the staff grab some coleslaw, for a sandwich, with her bare hand.”

The place is not actually open on Mondays, despite what it says on their sign and on Google maps. Mixed drinks were $5.50 and $4.25 for bottle beer. Seemed to have a decent selection on draft.”

They are friendly, professional, flexible (between our guests and the weather, we threw them some curveballs), and an absolute joy to work with. The food was amazing - my husband and I knew we wanted to prioritize the food for our wedding and were in good hands. Almost everything was kept seasonal and local and was cooked to perfection - to this day, people rave about the pork and the ratatouille they made! In addition to helping us craft a delicious menu, it was super helpful that they knew our venue (the Elberta Life Saving Station). They were able to help us with the layout of tables and set up ahead of time. The day of, they were able to make the necessary changes to accomodate pouring rain (all seamlessly and without stress). We would recommend them for any event with our whole heart.”

“This seems to be a quiet local eating place that had been in business for a long time. The dining room is not fancy but the service was good and our food was great. We had a cherry chicken salad, cheeseburger, and an appetizer. Not many people were in the actual restaurant but several people seem to be ordering from the bar right next door (they are connected). I felt the menu had many options and actually is was not not having to wait a long time for food to be brought to us after ordering. It seems everything is made to order - our salads were certainly fresh.”
