“Amazing hot pot experience! An older lady was our waitress. She was the BEST waitress I have ever had. She was attentive and went above and beyond. Our broth was spicer than we liked and she got ours switched out. She made sure we got all our sauces when they were starting to shut down the sauce bar. She was amazing and answered all questions we had. The chicken broth was a little bland but nothing the sauce bar can’t fix. If you come be prepared to spend money as it is expensive. But I would definitely recommend and would love to try their other menu items! I had such a fun experience!!”

“Pastries are tasty in general, albeit being a bit on the pricey side. The staff is friendly and attentive, and they have offered me nice recommendations on goodies and drinks. A major drawback of this place as a college town coffeehouse is its very balky WiFi. It has usually taken my laptop dozens of unsuccessful attempts before it could somehow uncannily connect to their wireless network.”

“We inevitably get to Buddies every visit to Okemos because it’s my Dad’s favorite place. It’s actually difficult to get a bad meal here. I’ve tried multiple dishes and loved every one of them. They have a good selection of beer, including craft brews. You can get Italian, Mexican, Salads, and American fare. The portions are unbelievably huge. Enough for at least 2 meals if you’re not a big eater. Prices are reasonable and they hey take all credit cards. Awesome place.”

“My family visited the store tonight and the line was out the door. The Meridian fireworks show was tonight and people were getting ice cream before they sat at their seats along the road. The staff was very efficient and we did not have to wait very long to be served. The customer service was excellent. The servers had smiles and were happily greeting customers throughout the busy time. The ice cream was delicious as always. We were very happy with our experience tonight.”

“The food and decor are fantastic. My only complaint is that they seem severely understaffed. (Saturday afternoons) several times my boyfriend and I have waited 10 minutes to be acknowledged after seating ourselves; And seen others waiting that long too. Our favorite meals are the bacon blue burger and buffalo chicken salad. Awesome. Edit: service has improved, don't miss done in only buy 1, get 1 pizza every Sunday!”

“I’m not sure if it’s a new late night crew, or if it is just the weekday crew, but I often swing by after closing the bar at my restaurant when I need something quick and open late. Usually the food is mediocre, the mini chicken quesadillas are cold and the cheese isn’t melted, the nacho fries are soggy and not seasoned BUT on 7/2/19 whoever was working took a little longer to get my order than usual and the food came out hot, cooked appropriately, and great. “This place's atmosphere was very airy and relaxing. The food was great, although the grind was too salty for my taste. The bisque was amazing. The shrimps (saute) were exceptional, and I'm picky with my seafood. We had an apple up-side-down cake for dessert and it was delicious, especially the icecream! The highlight, though, has got to be the homemade sugar that came with my coffee. I could feel the care and the hospitality from the chefs and servers, and that showed through the ingredients, the food, and the service. My husband and I definitely come back to support this business and try other dishes.”

“I had a great meal with friends, delicious food and wine, amazing craft cocktails, and fun to shop in their gourmet wine shop. Have been there many times over the years and plan to return again and again. Very friendly staff in shop & restaurant. I've also been impressed by their wine tastings -- in fact, they build it into the restaurant's menu, where you can get "flights" of different wine samples with dinner. I only did that once with a friend but it was really fun.”
