“We had a great visit this weekend on our way through town. Our family had chicken fingers, a gourmet grilled cheese with homemade chips, a French dip and fried cod with a salad and yummy mashed potatoes. The pre-meal bread was yummy and we loved the small touches like cinnamon butter, lemons for waters and sand buckets on the tables with extras. A great place to enjoy a tasty meal and great service. Credit cards are accepted but expect a 3% service charge. A fair trade for the convenience of not carrying cash.”

“The food is usually great. This last trip I was so disappointed. Ordered the macho taco (10 inch tortilla) with chicken. I know the chicken sits in water, but I got a completely soggy taco. It comes in a little paper tray, and by the second bite it was sitting in half an inch of water. It rendered it inedible, couldn't pick the thing up. Chicken was tasteless, no spices, no nothing. It was completely different than last year. Gave Tony 3 stars because my boyfriend enjoyed his chorizo tacos and because Tony is always so friendly.”

“One of my favorite restaurants in the Tawas area! Love the BLT salad! Upscale atmosphere and menu at affordable prices. Enjoy a great view of Lake Huron from inside or while you dine on the outdoor patio. I like how they change up the menu every few months with new appetizers and main courses to keep things interesting. Please bring back the sausage with pierogies and peas!”

“Amazing gem hidden near Sand Lake! Do not expect straight outta the can, chain restaurant food here! I had the Hawaiian, ham with two slices of pineapple and Swiss cheese open face sandwich. Husband had the special of the day, pot pie....served in a skillet, bubbling with gravy and a beautiful crust. Because the diets were blown to heck, we ordered the apple pie and strawberry cream pie. The strawberry cream had fresh strawberries! The apple was still warm from the oven and gooey fresh!”

“This restaurant is under new ownership. We had a delicious meal. I had the roast beef dinner and couldn't begin to eat the whole thing. The roast beef was extremely tender. My husband had the cod dinner and thoroughly enjoyed it. The waitress was very sweet and attentive. The owner came by and asked how our dining experience was. We will return with family.”

“Bar food. Service wasn't good. Waitress walked around us several times serving friends up at the bar and ignoring us at our table. Food was up fast, but I had to get up to get my own condiments and to ask for the bill when we were done. She never came back to ask about more drinks. She wasn't sure how to process the bill. Other than taking my order, it might as well have been self serve. Food was okay for the price. Sorry. I like to support small local businesses, but they have to put in some effort. I gave 3 stars based on the italian sub that was pretty good and worth the price. I probably won't go back to try anything else..”

“Wow! These folks run a great little cafe! We got there during a lull and were able to order sandwiches that were generously sized and tasty. Then we witnessed the crowds filling up the place.
