The Jockey Club at the Grand Stand

Good food, fun wait staff! I was disappointed the wild rice had mushrooms in it without being mentioned on the menu. I would've ordered something different.

It was decent food, priced like everything else on the island, and amazing views. Our waiter really didn't want to be working though and it definitely showed. But we did see some great showmanship from some others.

Best staff on the island, and best chef! Love the daily menu, and the lunch menu. Fingers crossed for a brunch menu!

Be forewarned that there is no AC. And it still gets quite warm this far north in Michigan some times of the year.
Besides that, the mood they set is sublime.
The staff was top notch. A guitarist played an excellent set at the perfect decibel. Loud enough to enjoy but low enough to have a conversation. Kudos to him.
The steak was well cooked. It lacked something in the seasoning, but delicious nonetheless.
Eat here then spend the rest of your evening in the Grand, like we did.

I absolutely LOVE this place! My first time going to mackinaw island and I came for lunch and I fell in love with everything about this place.. the food...the staff.. and they know how to make a lemon drop martini the right way! Needless to say, I came back to mackinaw island a month later and decided to have dinner there and again, I was super pleased with everything I ordered! The was presented beautifully and tasted AMAZING!! Any time I visit mackinaw island, I will always make my way back to this place! ♡
