Anthony's Gourmet Pizza

We had the Chicago stuffed crust pizza. It was a large and I believe it was called the Carnivorous Delight. Great Pizza. A large will feed 5 hungry people! Definitely see why this place gets voted best of Ann Arbor!

Pretty tasty deep dish pizza

Cleanest place I have ever seen! Deep dish pizza was awesome! Wings were really good, but could have been spicier for my taste!

I probably haven't ordered a deep dish pizza outside of Chicago in 10 years - too many disappointments. I rolled the dice and tried Anthony's. The most difficult thing to get right - the crust - was outstanding. Sauce was excellent. I give it a 4 instead of 5 stars because of the sausage. If you're looking for big, chunky, fennel sausage like you get in Chicago, you'll be disappointed here. Seems like they aced the hardest ? on the test, but missed the easiest ? on the test. Still a very good pizza.

Went to Anthony's based on the recommendation of a friend, and after seeing rave reviews on Yelp, I expected some seriously amazing pizza. What I encountered was...not quite on that level.

The storefront is not a prize winner, but that's not problem! The staff is very nice and there weren't many people at the restaurant when we arrived, so we had plenty of time to order, and could get seats. (The seating is very limited though, be prepared to eat elsewhere). Getting the pizza didn't take too long, so can't complain about that!

Ultimately the thing that brought the experience down for me was taste. After all the great rave reviews, I was looking for real Chicago Pizza and this just wasn't it. It was maybe above average, but not excellent as the reviews stated.
