“My husband surprised me with dinner here with a few very special friends last night. This is not a restaurant or somewhere to go randomly. This is a dining experience. The service was exactly what it should have been. The food was excellent. Drinks were amazing. It is certainly on the expensive side, but well worth it for a special occasion.”

“I came here for lunch, it was recommended by a regular. I really liked the pizza I had, and the bartender was fast and friendly. I walked in at 11am and there were only two people at the bar, by the time I left there were about 15 people, mostly local workers. Even when they got busy, they made sure my drink was full and asked how I liked the food. It was a little dark in there for my taste, but I understand why. If I am in the area, I would definitely try this place again.”

“Figured this was a dive bar. Much nicer than expected. Lovely wood framing inside. It was all decked out with Halloween and heard the owner does Christmas as well. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable. Super hot and delious Jalopeno poppers and they offer a burger like the Big Boy. Food was hot and fresh. Thank you; keep up the good work. Will be coming again.”

“Out of all of the bowling alleys in the area, Plaza Lanes is hand down by far my favorite. As a bowling enthusiast, it is very important to me that the lanes are maintained and well-kept. Whenever I bowl there, the lanes are always freshly oiled. My next favorite aspect of the business is bar. With just about any and every liquor that you can think of, it will definitely make your day bowling a little bit better. The guys at the front counter are always really nice as well.”

“My first visit to this historical jazz club. And I wasn't disappointed. It was everything I knew it would be. The food was good and so were the drinks. A couple should expect to spend at least $100 after the cover charge, dinner and drinks. It's well worth it!”

“I love Bert’s! In honesty... The service is consistently bad, BUT this is one of Detroit’s gems and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! Karaoke on Saturdays brings out some of the most hidden talent in the city and I just love supporting this establishment! Great clientele and always fun! They even have vegan and gluten free options to boot!”

“I visited on a Tuesday night when they have $1 burger night with the purchase of a beverage. You can choose from chicken, beef or the vegetarian option. The burgers only come with lettuce, any other toppings or sauce is additional, but not unreasonably priced. There were five of us. We each had a customized burger and a drink and we got 2 baskets of fries to share. Our bill came out to be $40. It was a great value and we all really enjoyed our food! We will definitely go back.”

“I didn't dislike the lounge.I just didn't like the fact that it says you can get a free booth on your birthday.but you really only getting a table for 4 and have to pay for extra table.I did eventually get a booth a $50 for $25 cause I wanted all my guest to have a seat of course.but it was right by the kitchen.so yeah.but overall we still had fun my drink and food was good and I got a free bottle of Moscato.so I can't really complain too much.they did try to work something out.”

“I usually don’t do reviews... but I had to let someone else know about you guys hidden gem.Jay Dee Soul Food. I stopped in on Sunday just to see what type of food was being served. I live in the area and frequent Celebrity on Sundays for dinner. So I ordered a Turkey Wing dinner with Mac and yams with a side of Greens and Cabbage. When I tell you that food was amazing in every way. Fresh, filling and affordable I got all that plus rice and cornbread for under $16. The atmosphere of the bar was at ease. Nice music and I even enjoyed a drink. Oh yes I will return!!!!”

“We were in Detroit from Houston to see a concert and found good reviews for this place. Was very busy but we were able to find a comfortable spot in the lounge/bar area. Upscale but laid back unpretentious atmosphere. Dishes are meant for sharing (but not large) and are not "complete" meals. So you will be picking several things. Each one costs between $12-$20. Waiter was very helpful putting together a good combination. They recommended picking 3 items each. That would have been pretty pricey. So between that and not having eaten here before we played it safe and just picked 4 items. Mussels, potato, spicey pasta and mushroom dumplings. All were great and it was plenty for 2 people. If I lived in Detroit would definitely be back.”

“The Dirty Dog Jazz Cafe is a world class jazz club that has been lovingly created in the middle of Grosse Pointe Farms. The building has been redone with exceptional attention to detail and it really stands out from any other venue. It is a very unique and intimate setting to have a meal or cocktails and listen to the great jazz artists that are on tour. The food is very good and so is the service. Very popular and people visit from all over the city so best to make reservations.”
