“You know this place is good when your Midwestern Iowigan in-laws ask to eat here at least once every time they come and visit. The classic gyro and cucumber sauce are savory, perfectly seasoned, and well-proportioned. I always leave here feeling like I got what I paid for and more; they never skimp on the good stuff -- the meat! Falafels are also incredible. Make sure to finish off your meal with baklava!”

“I always get the #1 beef. The soup is really good. Three sauces to create your dipping. I like hot pot in general, but it’s different because it’s less spicy and you can drink the soup. Very comforting food. Service can be faster.”

“Excellent Service! There was a slightly screw up on my order. I originally told them not to worry about it. But the owner was worried he went above & beyond. When most people would go 100% he went double. To make sure customers satisfaction. Knew that I had to walk across campus. Gave me a box to carry it all in that came in handy. Well worth the screw up delicious food. Highly recommend when your looking to eat off campus.”

“Previously at a different location Banh Appetit is a favorite with our family. I believe the fries are the best tasting in the Twin Cities. The other food options are tasty as well. Unfortunately their new location isn't quite as close to the U of M campus but it's well worth the walk/drive.”

“Their Pumpkin Oolong Milk Tea is AMAZING, it taste just like pumpkin pie if that's what you're into. And their bubbles are so soft and chewy unlike other bubble tea shop around the area. I came in during a rush, which was fine but they make drinks very fast.”

“Stopped in for a beer with a couple friends after a show across the street. Everyone was nice. This bar reminded me of how old I am.”

“Once upon a time this was my favorite place to eat. But something has happened...maybe new management, maybe I just came on an off day. I had a bowl, but it wasn’t very tasty and was strangely very watery. Best part was the queso, that is still salty and cheesy and delicious with the crunchy fluffy tortilla chips. Staff was nice but didn’t seem too excited, didn’t feel like it was one of those places I’d go back because the staff was fantastic. You know the place. But again, maybe an off day? I’ll have to return next time I’m in the area and give it another shot. I used to go in college (15 years ago) often and loved it. Hoping for a better experience next time.”

“Doordash driver forgot part of my sons order and I call them to let them know. I was so happy with Zack (if I'm right) he said sorry and asked were he was and said he would take it to him. Thank you so much for all that you do. My son loved the sandwich.”

“The entrees and side dishes were all amazing with quick service on their part. I would definitely come back here again as it is also a very pretty and bright shop! The only issues I faced was the service was a bit standoffish and some of the menu was not available when I went which was a bit disappointing. I understand though, it might have just been that day which is why I look forward to coming back one day!”

“We enjoy going out. Last night we came to this superb place which friends recommended to us. We had a beautiful evening there with fine cooking and a professional stuff and a professional cuisine. We added this fine restaurant in our phone list and we will certainly go again very soon. We highly recommend.”

“I'm not vegan and this is the only vegan restaurant I've even been to but I love their food and service. The fried cauliflower tacos are amazing. They also have a vegan ranch that is spiced perfectly. The staff is friendly, the beer list is good, if you're looking to eat some delicious fried vegetables... Head this way.”

“This is my new favorite restaurant in Minneapolis. Just left with a warm heart and a full belly, the owner was a wonderful and friendly host, the food was phenomenal and plentiful, and it's such a great local business. I am beyond happy, they even offer cooking classes, which I will definitely be taking! Awesome vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. There wasn't a single thing I didn't love. Seriously, check them out asap!”

“Excellent food and service! Our server was Mike, he was amazing. Took his recommendation on the Asian fries and will definitely order them again. Also had the best buffalo chicken pizza I've ever had. Great atmosphere, love the steampunk vibe.”

“Courteous prompt service. Some of the best pizzas and food around. Open for business during this these hard times. John is running the front of the house and he's doing a spectacular job despite these stressful conditions. The quality of the this exemplary and John service ensures that you'll get your food hot and on time. I can't wait for this place to open back up the atmosphere is just incredible”

“Was just visiting the state for only 2 nights and this was the first meal when we got here. Will definitely come back if I return to Minnesota. Good Pho and Bun Rieu. Huge egg roll is a plus for value. Can't go wrong with a Vietnamese Ice Coffee even thou it is late at night.”

“Positively delicious southern cooking. Best collard greens I've had, and I lived in Atlanta. Mama Sheila runs the kitchen and she knows what she's doing. Her husband did the decorating/remodeling and is often out in the restaurant area greeting people and making sure everybody is completely satisfied. Super friendly staff. You can either have the "all you can eat" buffet for about $20 or you can pick and choose certain items with cost by weight. Groups of 10 or more should make a reservation. Because I wanted to try a little bit of everything I went for the buffet. But I will definitely be back to try the oxtail stew. My favorites were the collard greens, the smothered chicken, and the macaroni and cheese. Also had the peach cobbler which was fantastic, but I would prefer a little less spice ... perhaps nutmeg. Since everything is homemade, it is possible that this one particular pan of cobbler got over spiced too. Others at the table raved about it.”

“Excellent good and great prices. Wonderful for takeout during these wild times. I ordered the chicken enchiladas (so good) and my husband ordered a smothered burrito of sorts which was also delicious. The food wasn't overly heavy and flavor was great. I also ordered elotes which is my favorite, but beware of asking for spicy! They mean spicy (and I don't mean like Ketchup is spicy because we're in Minnesota). Still good, but definitely HOT. We will be back!”

“This is a great restaurant with a large selection of homemade pies. They're extremely fairly priced and the portions are massive and you'll definitely have some food to take home. They also keep the sports channel on so many of you who are interested in sports will be spoiled for choice.”

“Food was great! New to Minneapolis, I found lowbrow recommended on Reddit. The burgers were amazing (we had the Highbrow and the Royal Jam) and the fries were fantastic. The service was so prompt and courteous despite the circumstances. We will definitely be getting our burger fix from Lowbrow in the future ????”

“Oh my gosh. What can I say about this place that hadn't already been said?! The fried chicken is how you want it, crunchy or crunchy and spicy. The Mac and cheese is perfection. The burger is savory and cheesy without being greasy. Go here!! And get the mustard slaw.”

“This place is amazing! Genuine Filipino food. The atmosphere in here is trendy, but comfortable. The beer selection is pretty optimal and the food is absolutely fantastic! Try something you’ve never heard of- you will not regret it. Also, karaoke on Saturday nights start at 9. A truly great addition to the Minneapolis food scene. And it’s in the best neighborhood.”

“Checked out this adorable new cafe in the neighborhood. For a soft opening they are nailing it! I had the open face tuna melt with fries, super tasty and good portion size! Husband had the Salmon BLT with side salad, also super good! The dill vinaigrette on the salad is delicious! Rounded it off with a huge slice of homemade carrot cake again absolutely superb! Can not wait for their official opening, the are a welcome addition to the HPDL neighborhood and we will definitely be back to test more items from the full menu once available!”
