We decided to try this newer place in Rochester, MN, as this was to be our favorite place when it was an Irish pub. Food is great, very nice servers and love the decor as well. They have outdoor seating as well. Not to mention the bathroom is cleaned and very nice. Highly recommend.

The Well always has consistently good service and great food! Tried the ice cream sandwich for the first time last night with homemade strawberry and vanilla ice cream, and topped with an amazing pistachio crunch. ❤️ the enchiladas, harissa chicken and the Parmesan crusted cauliflower. And the mashed sweet potatoes are a tasty side dish.

We had the BEST waiter. His name was Caleb! Very polite, very friendly, nice guy, very good looking. Our meals were TO DIE FOR. We had the cheesecake for dessert.

A group of us got together for a girls lunch. I thought the inside was updated beautifully from what occupied this area in the past. It’s got a very different feel- which is great.
We were seated away from two other busy tables, which I appreciated. We put in drink orders first and started to browse the menu. There were plenty of traditional options, but many new twists on old favorites. I also liked the 5 options for $15 in 15 minutes if you need to get back to work quickly.
I ordered the Well Burger and added cheese. I asked for NO mayo. But ketchup and mustard. For side options I selected the roasted red pepper soup.
My burger came with Mayo. Not only on the top bun, but the bottom was covered with Mayo extra thick. I think they mistakenly gave me EXTRA mayo vs. NO mayo. I tried to scrape it off, but it was soaked into the bun. I flagged down the waitress and asked for a different bun. She said it was her fault and took the burger away. I was guessing she was getting me a new bun. I still had the cup of soup. It was very flavorful and delicious. Could have just a meal of it, it was that good. Only complaint with the soup, it wasn’t hot. Hardly even warm by the time it was served to me.
I did finally get the burger back, this time without the mayonnaise. They did add the cheese and a small single leaf of lettuce. No ketchup, onion, tomato, mustard…..nothing else. I asked again for ketchup and mustard from the server. She did finally bring me mustard- never did get ketchup. The burger had a good flavor. Was a true burger and not beef pattie. It wasn’t too lean, where it’s dry. It was juicy and very good.
Everyone else enjoyed their food in our group. They have smaller 8oz glasses of water. I finished mine twice, nearly 90’ outside. Had to ask waitress for more water each time, she didn’t bring us a pitcher for the table. Most of my meal, I had nothing to drink.
Asked for a desert menu, never received one. We decided maybe they didn’t have desserts…..?

Our Reservation was made 2-3 weeks in advance for 8 people, but only seven of us were able to attend. Interesting part- we were charged the gratuity automatically to our bill for “party of eight.” I explained we were only seven. She said you reserved a table for eight so you still pay the added gratuity. 😳 Normally, it won’t bother me. But the server did such a poor job with service, it wasn’t earned. She was nice, just not too helpful.
Overall the food was good. Prices were higher than most restaurants for lunch, so none of us think we will be regulars. Service was poor. Atmosphere was quiet, calm and easy to hear each other.
Ample street parking & city ramp nearby too. They do have an outdoor seating area, but no one was outside the afternoon we visited. It was a hot one that day.
To pay, the waitress came over to each of us to view a digital bill. We swiped our cards at the table. I think it made church out more streamlined. Overall I’d rate 7/10.

Interesting and unique menu in a comforting environment. The food was excellent in quality and presentation. The service was excellent as well and our server was very attentive and knowledgeable. The cheesecake was outstanding, and a huge portion as well!
