    My sons and I were on a cross country Amtrak trip and stopped to spend a day in Kirksville. We had lunch on May 30th at Bakers Smokehouse and are still talking about it to this day so I thought I would leave a review. Portions are perfect! We eat a lot of BBQ and I can say without equivocation, that this is the best BBQ we have ever had! The owner was there when we had lunch and told us he makes the sauce himself. The sauce is amazing and the meats cooked to perfection. It was a highlight on our trip and we have talked about making sure our next trip includes a stop in Kirksville for lunch.

    Brisket, baked beans and cheesy hash browns were done to a tee at a very reasonable price. Would recommend trying Baker's Smokehouse.

    Their ribs are very addictive!!
    They are very friendly and helpful. Their daily special gives you a big meal for about $10.

    They have great barbecue but have a variety of things on the menu from sandwiches to blackened fish which was wonderful. Was there over the Thanksgiving holiday visiting my parents they introduced us to this establishment. I will eat there every time I'm in Kirksville. Family-owned very good people!
