“Visited on the first day they opened. Our food was fantastic. It was a little bit of a wait but I am sure they have been overwhelmed with their opening day. I promise that the food was worth the wait. The garlic rolls were delicious too. I had Chicken Milanese and the Wife had Chicken Fettuccine. Both superb! “Amazing! Friendly people 😀 I look forward to coming back. UPDATE: We came back and it was amazing! I had three street tacos with stake and horchata. The chips were nice and appeared to be homemade. The tortillas were really nice and the quality of meat was good. The salsa served was not spicy but I asked for the spicy one and it was great! If you like spicy just ask. My partner Kathy is a vegetarian and allergic to cheese. She asked for a burrito with no meat or cheese and it was delicious. They took her allergy seriously which is very important to us. I would highly recommend this place.”

“Good first impression. Was quickly seated and served. Liked that they brought out a small comp cheese dip with salsa & chips. Had a margarita which was ok. Good selection of Mexican beers. Tried the beef enchilada. This was a test run after trying another local Mexican restaurant that was marginal (that's being generous). I'll be back again. Highly recommend this place.”

Last time I was there might have been a rough day for some of the workers and the manager was a little snippy too. Some patience would go a long way. “We went right at noon on a Sunday. There was about a two minute wait time. The staff we talked to were polite and helpful. Restroom was clean and pleasant. Only thing keeping this from being 5 stars is we had to ask for drink refills, one order was wrong and took a while to get fixed; I chalk most of this up to an off day for a server whose attitude was good and indicated she was aware she was having an off day. Steak fajitas were greasier than I'm used to but still good and the portion was large.”

No food or beverages on my last visit as I arrived late and knew I had to leave early. After the 3rd staff person offered to take my order I did ask for a glass of water. “Moving here from Colorado or Oklahoma I was consistently disappointed, and even disgusted, by the interpretations of Mexican food the other restaurants in the area had been serving. Trying this one was a blessing. The employees have always been professional and attentive, and the restaurant has a very clean and relaxed atmosphere. “My sons and I were on a cross country Amtrak trip and stopped to spend a day in Kirksville. We had lunch on May 30th at Bakers Smokehouse and are still talking about it to this day so I thought I would leave a review. Portions are perfect! We eat a lot of BBQ and I can say without equivocation, that this is the best BBQ we have ever had! The owner was there when we had lunch and told us he makes the sauce himself. The sauce is amazing and the meats cooked to perfection. It was a highlight on our trip and we have talked about making sure our next trip includes a stop in Kirksville for lunch.”

Nice size salad bar with lots of healthy food choices. I don't care for the pizza, you might. They have a lot to choose from, even sushi”
