“Was in Washington for an event and saw hazels back porch barbecue. Decided to stop in and was glad I did. You know your in a good bbq joint when you smell the aroma of smoke, beef and pork before you see it. And it helps that it’s a locally owned business with an owner who is proud of her place. Nothing fancy about this place- just solidly well smoked meat at a great price. Ordered the brisket and 1/2 slab of ribs. Portions are generous and amazing in price. I know my smoked meats and they know how to do it here. The owner and staff are welcoming and explained everything. Absolutely worth many repeat visits, including the drive from St Louis”

These guys are always struggling with their system running slow or not being able to run cards. I feel bad because they try to do such a great job with terrible equipment.”

Seating is comfortable and you can sit at an actual counter up front. This is why I consider it a diner rather than a traditional eatery. Small things make a big difference!”

“I didnt eat there but I had a severe case of diarrhea and needed to make an emergency pit stop. Bathrooms were clean, but I only did 3 stars because they were out of toilet paper. A 3 roll dispenser with no toilet paper? Somebody dropped the ball. Luckily they had an ample supply of paper towels.”

And it split in half before in in made into my mouth. Second, the bread was incredibly dry. Making it an pain to eat, eventually I threw it away.
