“I have lived in the Kansas City area my whole life. How did I not know about this little gem a block and a half away from the Power and Light District? Amazing food, great nostalgic atmosphere, attentive service . . . A couple days before Christmas, four of us went here for an early dinner. We arrived during Happy Hour, so the well drinks were two for one. The shrimp appetizer and the beef filet medallions were FABULOUS! We were so sad to miss the lounge singer, Al, who we were looking forward to seeing perform. He was on "holiday."”

“Stars for service. It's hard for me to fault Providence because the two times I've been there the service has been over the top in a good way. In my experience, staff has been professional, kind, helpful, respectful, and goes above and beyond the call of duty to make sure you have a good experience. Unfortunately, I personally haven't been as blown away by the food as I have the service. However, I think that may be because of what I order. This last visit I had the Arugula Salad with grilled chicken. It wasn't great for the price - it was small, the arugula stuck together in big clumps, and there were barely any toppings. I'm pretty sure the people who love Providence come here for the meatloaf specifically, but that just really isn't my thing. A huge plus is the private room, which we reserved for about 10 people for a dinner meeting. We had a few bottles of the Malbec which was divine. Our fabulous waiter Dennis completely sold us on dessert and even though I didn't have them myself they looked incredible - spiced apple pie and a s'mores dessert with homemade graham cracker ice cream! If you do go here, don't sleep on the dessert like I did!”

“There were a lot of us, we were a group of 15+ and it was definitely different. The sliders were really good, but we did not care too much about the mixed drink menu. The staff was great too. They were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely go again. In response to the owner's inquiry: I would like to see more classic drink options (such as vodka/redbull, rum/coke, etc). Trying new drinks is always fun, but it's nice to have more options aside from beer and wine.”

“The interior of the restaurant is so chic and unique! The colors really work well together which caused a quiet dining environment! I was so excited when our food came out because it was so full of color and promise! However, based on the pricing, the flavoring did not meet my expectations. The only flavor I encountered in my bowl was the BBQ sauce paired with my chicken. I also ordered one of the juices and was disappointed with the temperature and texture of the drink. I received it warm with a watery substance at the bottom while the juice stayed afloat up top. The wrap was juicy and full of flavor that consisted of rich cheese and meats! If you are looking for a quick bit for lunch, this would be a good place to visit. However, I would not recommend this for dinner outings or social activities. The seasoning and execution of their products are not worth the prices.”

“The restaurant was packed on a Saturday afternoon but the wait was less than 20 minutes. The adult drinks was were made on the strong side which was good. We ordered an appetizer which came out quick and hot and was really good. “Came here on Kansas city restaurant week. Originally from Dallas/Ft Worth I’ve had my fair share of excellent steaks both locally as well nationally. This place came highly recommended. I have to say did not disappoint. Lizzie the bartender who serve me was amazing. She had great recommendations. 801wedge salad was divine. The food was cooked perfectly. A fillet medium rare charred on the outside was fantastic. Interestingly the person next to me at the bar seating came in on a date with someone else and wanted a vegan plate. Even more amazing was that this high end steak restaurant actually had a big vegan plate brought out for him. I was quite impressed. Only recommendation I have is to improve on the Italian red selection. Also the reds were a little warm and should be served a little cooler. I will definitely come here again and highly recommend this restaurant”

“When I say average I mean good enough BBQ to eat. There are some that are completely inedible. The ribs are kind of on the dry side. It is delicious though. Love the sauce as well. The brisket is also good. same with the pulled pork. The mac and cheese and potato salad are standard. This is a take out order and when we got there food wasn't ready as they ran out of ribs. So we had to wait for 15 more minutes. We have a dog with us and they allowed us to come in to wait. Not sure if that was an exception or the rule.”

“Found this place by searching for "Best Mexican restaurant Kansas City". Well after having dinner and then breakfast there outs hard to argue! Huge portions at decent prices ans that would be enough as long as the food was decent. It goes way above 'decent'. My wife and I will only return to a place that has really good chips and salsa.... and this place definitely has that! In fact it's some of the best salsa I've had in a long time. Mama Tio's also has outstanding burritos and awesome tacos. The enchiladas are also really really good!”
