Peno Soul Food

I had the mushroom ravioli. It was delicious. I've never had a pasta in broth. I believe it was the owner came out to greet us. He was very inviting. My only critique was no pricing the majority of the menu.

Was disappointed. Food was decent, but not worth the price. Service was definitely lacking for this type of establishment. Note: We will pay up for good food and service!) Owner did start us off with an appetizer since we had a mutual friend, but app and desserts were nothing special. We will likely not be back.

The tip at this place is to take a photo of the posted menu. We tried the octopus app, pappardelle, and lamb cannelloni. All were amazingly perfect. The wait staff and owner have fabulous customer service. I understand why is place is a local favorite. We will be back.

Friendly service, good atmosphere and reasonable dishes. We had pasta and fish. The southern Italian cuisine, I found it a bit hard to discern, at least on my plate. For that, it is just a bit too elaborate, too rich. We did not have wine so I do not know about that. But they did make me an excellent gin tonic prior to our dinner. Overall, it is worth your while to have a bite here!
