My girlfriend and I went by to get a takeout for lunch in the park. I had the chicken parmesan. It was excellent. Staff was great. Get out and support them while things are down. At least the kitchen staff can get a paycheck and you get excellent food. It's a win win. We are gonna buy today for nurses at St Luke's...
We visited Zia’s at 5:00 on a Saturday night. There were quite a few guests waiting for table and seated in the bar area. There were 7 in our party and we waited 50 minutes for a table. It was challenging to wait with small children in tow in a small area that only became more and more crowded. While we waited, a restroom break was needed by one of my kiddos and there were MANY empty tables in the dining room (a little frustrating) By the time we were seated there was barely room to move into the dining room, let alone breath or be comfortable. That part was quite unpleasant.
The food was worth the wait! It’s always delicious and always generous with the portions. There were many children in the dining room, but there was no offer of a kids menu. They were graceful in letting us share our sides of pasta with the kids (ages 3 and 6) without charging extra. Overall, the food was delicious and came out in a timely manor, but the long wait was a challenge for us because of the kids.
I've had Zias catering before, but this was my first time in the restaurant. It was busy for a Monday lunch, but we were still well attended to. The lunch options are abundant and well priced. I went was with the spedini prosciutto, which came with salad and pasta. Absolutely amazing! The white sauce pasta is so rich and creamy. The salad was good as always. My chicken dish was to die for. Full of flavor and plenty of sauce to go around. I can't wait to come back.
Waited almost an hour for a table. We went at dinner time on a Saturday night. We weren't in a hurry so no big deal. Bar area very small, we had to make friends at a table to have a place to sit.
Food was good but wouldn't say amazing.
Staff was nice.
Ate lunch there today before leaving town. Was going to eat at another restaurant on the "Hill" but they were closed on Mondays. My friend and I had calamari and two different seafood pasta dishes. The calamari was lightly breaded, fresh, and was served with marina sauce. The pasta dishes were generous and filling. After the provided bread and oil, and the appetizer, neither of us could finish our entree. I would have liked a side salad as well but the price was over $5.00, and given that the entrees we're less than $12.00 each I passed on principal. As to the entrees, they were chock full of shrimp, clams, and small scallops. If I could change one thing the scallops would have been grilled, fried, or browned in some fashion in order to give them flavor. As-is they contribute little to the dishes.
Service was excellent! The waiter and others in the dining area made sure that our drinks were filled and anything that we asked for was promptly provided.
I will definitely be back the next time I'm in the St. Louis area.
