La Palmita Taqueria

My new go to spot in Billings. Our waitress, Honey, was outstanding! She was kind, attentive and gave great recommendations. I look forward to all the new things coming for the restaurant! Full and very happy!

1st time in and I ordered the Super Macho burrito and it was awesome 5 star for sure. My wife ordered the Chimichanga and she didn't care for the soggy tortilla. We thought it was supposed to be deep fried. She liked the interior of it and didn't eat tortilla. So 4 Stars from her.

The building itself might not have been a Mexican restaurant for long; with its Western, all-American log cabin fittings, it looks like a former BBQ joint or steakhouse. But it's a fun, festive, clean, and spacious place. The food is generous and good. Highlights include a very flavorful (though not spicy) salsa, and a mixture of light & dark meat chicken in the well-stuffed enchiladas, adding richness. Lowlights? A side of chips and salsa isn't gratis; it's $6.24, though both are very good. This isn't a cheap meal, but it was big enough to be two meals, on balance. The rice that came with the enchiladas was a pile of broken grains; it was overcooked.
