Cunningham's Journal On The Lake

Beautiful restaurant on a cute lake, the atmosphere is lovely, the food is very good, the service is great, decor and space unbelievable. It’s a must go. If I had to say one thing that I didn’t love was that the hostess tried to sit us next to the bathroom even though there were plenty of nicer booths, but we asked her to change us …so once she gave us a different spot we where more than happy. I loved the deck although it was to warm to sit out it is an exceptional place. Love it!

Really nice place has great views from the outdoor seating, big bar and plenty of dine in seating. The pork bites were very good, the ribeye steak sandwich was dry and bland. I would recommend checking the place out if in town.

You can't beat the atmosphere at Cunningham's on the lake. The building interior and the patio overlooking the lake are gorgeous. Food is great, although I would recommend skipping dessert.

Headed here on a Wednesday night and had a short (10 minutes or less) wait to get a table on the patio in the beautiful weather.

The view was great, although once seated you can't see much of the lake over the flower boxes on the railings. The flowers themselves were beautiful, and the ambience is just great. Not too loud, very inviting.

The food was VERY good, although it was hard to choose from a very large menu selection.

I had a baked mac and cheese with grilled chicken, which was great. Also tried their chicken tortilla soup - a bit spicy, but AMAZING! Wife had the drunken chicken sandwich, which was also very flavorful, and onion straws cooked very well.

The only downside was dessert. We had a blueberry lemon cake, and the lemon was VERY subdued and left the whole concoction a bit lackluster in flavor.

Overall, you should definitely visit here for great views and good food when you are in Kearney!

I loved everything about this place! If the weather is permitting, definitely sit on the patio by the lake. It's beautiful and peaceful. This restaurant has so much room, it can accommodate many people. The food is delicious and many of the options are unique. Try the pork belly bites, they're YUUUM! The kid's menu is only $6 and it comes with enough for two kids to share. The place is clean, the staff is quick and friendly, bathroom stalls are individual rooms... I was very pleased and would recommend this place to anyone.

We had a fantastic meal here. We just loved the pork belly bites. That dish alone was worth it. The rest of the food we had (Jameson steak medallions, Western BBQ pizza, and Build a Skewer Trio) was amazing as well. Their drinks on tap were impressive as well.

Their service was great as well. Our server got us samples of various drinks, and we found some new favorites.

The atmosphere here was wonderful as well. It's nice enough if you want to dress up for a date you can and not look out of place. But at the same time, it is laid back enough for jeans and t-shirts. Big open space with sitting at the bar and plenty of other seats around for your needs. Large outdoor seating as well.
