“Stumbled upon this place while driving around the river between Nebraska and South Dakota. Was surprised that there weren’t more eateries with a view along the river. From the outside, this place looks shady. The staff was kind, the service was good. They have decent patio views especially at sunset. Food was alright, more comfort food than a culinary experience. Drinks were decent but nothing unique. For the area, it’s a decent pick.”

“Living in Kansas City, I've had some good BBQ. Backroad has, hands down, the best brisket I've ever eaten. It is super tender, juicy, and has enough flavor to eat without sauce. My only complaint is that it's not a menu choice on its own (it's sold as a sandwich). I will definitely return! I returned... I like the option to get the brisket sandwich without a bun (still didn't need sauce). I've heard the smoked mac&cheese is good, but they were already out by the time I stopped in tonight. Next time...”
