Backroad Bar-B-Q

Bar-B-Q was outstanding. We had two slabs of ribs, onion rings and must have barbecue beans. Truly delicious. Even though it was take out, it's always nice too be around happy and positive people

Food was good.
Proportions were adequate and acceptable for cost.
Loved the cole slaw.
Sauces were delicious. My preference is not to add sauce to my meats, but I ate sauce on half of my food.
Chicken was the best of the meats. Great flavor and very juicy. Most smoked chicken is dry, but not this chicken.
Ribs were meaty and lean.

This is by far the best BBQ ever! We drove 6.5 hrs from Mahnomen, Minnesota and it is the best we ever tasted! If we ever get this way again we will definitely make a stop! Staff was very friendly and the place has a small hometown feel! We had the pulled pork sandwich, baked beans, cornbread, cheese curds, onion petals, and the sample platter.

Living in Kansas City, I've had some good BBQ. Backroad has, hands down, the best brisket I've ever eaten. It is super tender, juicy, and has enough flavor to eat without sauce. My only complaint is that it's not a menu choice on its own (it's sold as a sandwich). I will definitely return!
I returned... I like the option to get the brisket sandwich without a bun (still didn't need sauce). I've heard the smoked mac&cheese is good, but they were already out by the time I stopped in tonight. Next time...
