Got the Shabu Shabu with konbu base - despite being extremely clear (it looked just like water) you could really taste the Konbu base! We also got the cheese Katsu and it was amazing! A lovely place and would love to go again!
The place was recommended to me from tik tok by Codi and her @ is local.livin_. What was really enjoyable about lunch was that I was really craving for hot pot that day and really wanted to search for the next hot pot spot. So I typed into the search bar on tik tok and that's how i came across this place. When I entered the establishment, it was really dark and mysterious, which was a nice change of pace for me because most of the restaurants I come across are lit up. However, the dim lighting was not something I was against but rather somewhat relieved because I was dining by myself, so I can dine in peace and not have anybody judge me, just a joke. I was instantly greeted by a server and she sat me immediately with some water shortly after, at this point of time I was already impressed with the speedy service. As i glanced over the menu, I was a bit taken back because most places i go to offer A.Y.C.E, so I was unsure at first what to get. I requested the waitress to assist me in finding out what is good at this restaurant, and my goodness, she was sooo knowledgeable about the menu. I mean she started from appetizers all the way to desserts, where she described almost every dish in great detail and also advised about what food items paired with certain taste preferences. I was assured that I was in the right hands, so I ordered the sukiyaki hotpot with black angus rib eye steak. She informed me of what other people do in order to extract the best flavors from this dish. I am so astonish of the level of professionalism she exuded that I was a bit worried that there would burn a hole in my wallet due to the 5 star service I was receiving. The hot pot is like any hotpot, it will always be delicious regardless of the place it came from, but I want to say that I was informed that the ingredients are stored at a cold temperature to retain the freshness, which I endorse. The rice, vegetable, meats, broth and the tomago sauce was out of this world. I was so fulfilled and grateful to dine at a establishment of this caliber. The place did not have many customers, but I did enjoy the seclusiveness of the restaurant. I will be back again when I start craving hot pot again. I am giving this place a 5/5 A++ work.
Ambience is great with excellent service. We truly enjoyed the shabu shabu especially. Udon was very smooth & chewy. Would visit again.
Fun intimate place. Good for small parties. Food was decent. Meant to be chill place to drink and eat but saw more ppl just eat without much drinks. Or maybe it's the tamest Izakaya I've been to so far.
Really enjoyed the shabu shabu here. We liked the garlic pork broth more than the kombu (seaweed) broth which was a bit dull for us. Both sauces were tasty.
The restaurant theme is really fun too. They were playing 80s Japanese pop music, and they even have 80s Japanese TV commercials playing in the bathroom. Definitely a memorable experience.
Service was friendly but a little slow.
