When I researched things to do in a day, and Book & Bar popped up, I was intrigued and thrilled.
What fabulous marriage of our favorite things!
Welcoming, quaint, yet hip...comfortable atmosphere.
Fun and cool. Definitely visit! Buy a book (I did) have a drink, and a coffee..grab something to eat and hangout....glad I did.

I could spend an entire day here! The space just radiates feels warmth and welcome the moment you step in.

My husband and I ordered a round of drinks on a Friday afternoon, one beer and one Prosecco, and bounced between the bar and the bookshelves while we sipped. Is there any better way to start a long weekend away?!

They have a unique selection of books so you should browse slowly and with attention as you never know what you’ll stumble upon.

In the hour we were there a range of people from moms with toddlers to working professionals with laptops to 20-somethings came in and out of the space. It feels like a welcoming community location.

Love, love, love the Book and Bar and their new menu! The food and drinks are delicious! I got the BLT on wheat bread with lemon aioli, and a giant chocolate chip cookie! My daughter ordered a vegan BLT, and a pumpkin parfait. Everything was absolutely delicious. The wait staff was friendly and thoughtful and very speedy. A wonderful place to hang out, have a wide variety of food and desserts and drinks, in a relaxed atmosphere, right in downtown Portsmouth.

What a unique and wonderful place! I could gladly spend the entire day here. Books, games, snacks and drinks what more can you ask for! They have a very large and unique selection of very well priced books. The owner and employees are very friendly. There is a restroom located in the back. Just wish I had more time to spend here.

This place is so lovely! Great selection of drinks (coffee, alcohol, juice, tea, etc.) to choose from. Andrea the owner greeted us so nicely and showed us around the place. We felt extremely welcomed! There’s lots of different genre options and the books are incredibly affordable. Would definitely recommend!
