We were visiting Portsmouth, NH for a couple hours and stopped here to get some lunch. What a fun experience! The food was really good. They have vegan and gluten-free options and the view was amazing!
Great food. Wonderful atmosphere. Staff was excellent. I had Ahi Poke bowl and the Seafood chowder and both were excellent. The poke bowl was packed with flavor and content. It also came with crackers to place all that together and provided a great crunch to each bite.
The chowder was just excellent. Great flavor and wasn't just clam.
I'd come here again during my visit but love to try new places. On a return trip to Portsmouth I would absolutely come again.
Food was okay but not on a par with other comparable restaurants in the area. My pasta dish was a bit pasty tasting. Also, my wife's fish was a lot smaller than the bun it was on. We stood at the bar for about 10 minutes waiting for a bartender to wait on us. He went by a few times as he was waiting on tables in the bar area. He looked at us but never said a word. Finally when he went by again, I asked him if we could order drinks. He said sure, but then walked to a table and talked to other customers. He seemed to deliberately take his time to get to us. Food was not overpriced though. Beautiful views directly on the water.
Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Seafood chowder is amazing. I can see why it's voted the best in Portsmouth. Opted for the burger and wasn't disappointed. Fantastic flavor, cooked perfectly.
My husband and I both got the "ship" lobster roll and chowder combo with hand cut potato chips. He got a cold, traditional roll and I got a warm lobster roll--just lobster and butter (it's $2 extra but they have to use more lobster to fill the roll). I got the "small ship" combo, which was 2" smaller (let's say "petite") than the more traditional size of a "tall ship" lobster roll. We both were very happy with the food! The chowder had big chunks of lobster in it. Our kiddos ordered a hot dog with fries and grilled cheese with chips. They both loved their food (and they are picky). Also, they loved that it was served in a cute cardboard boat! There were no leftovers at our table. Although we were there on a day that it was socked in with fog, the inside atmosphere was still enjoyable. The wait staff was very friendly. We went at 6pm on a rainy Thursday and there was no wait. We would recommend this for anyone and they are very family friendly. The dress code is pretty casual...from jeans and sneakers to people in office attire. Our meals, including 3 adult beverages, came to $88. Also, there are cute shops next door and in walking distance for post-meal shopping. ????
