I want to come back for more… and this is a non-Filipino speaking! I like how fresh a lot of their baked goods are, the variety and the inclusion of a hot food counter (not part of the bakery section, but looks good too). I see a lot of people in the Filipino community stock up on the baked goods here, so it MUST be good. It is a good place to stop by, Filipino and non-Filipino alike.
The girls and boy behind the counter were quick and attentive. The only hitch were filipino buyers with "very heavy pinoy accent" who pretended they didnt speak Tagalog! (unbelievable!) They held up the line with their pretense.
😅🤣😂
I been going to this place for a while from the Bronx. Long drive just to get the long bread with sugar(bitcho). The point is…. If you have order 150, because they called it’s your priority. I understand! But you should have a priority to the people who walks in in your store also, some people don’t have time to call because they want to check what you have in the store.
Maybe it's the nostalgia for the mouthwatering authentic Filipino dishes and treats or bias towards all the sweet people that work there, but PBH has been a staple of mine (and I'm sure many others!) since the mid 2000s. The food served the essence of the Philippines- bakery goods and take out with traditional entrees with just as much taste and love as the real deal back home. Other stores that don red sometimes feel a bit too manufactured and overly sweet but the bakers at Philippine Bread House keep it simple and with every bite you save 1k in plane tickets since you're basically there when you eat.
Just go. It's worth it.
