We were there a few years ago--but I miss it. Burritos were served in a clear broth--incredible flavor--while retaining all textures. Don't be surprised by French visitors to the restaurant--we were once.
This is literally about the size of a trailer, so "hole in the wall"does not describe it. But it is also an experience that the street foodie does not want to miss. If you are in the area, you must try it out. I like to go there after hiking the surface of the moon (Plaza Blanca) and before driving to Taos.
NEW MEXICAN FOOD AT IT'S BEST
This is a must stop every time I am in this part of New Mexico. First time was riding the Great Divide Ride on my bike. It was fabulous then I came back driving a vehicle and the food was still fabulous. I have been back a number of times and have driven many extra miles just to eat here.
Very good priced food, sells some snacks / eggs / veggies. Note tacos are hard shelled and chicken is pulled/stringy.
Highlight is the people working there, the rice and prices.
Easy to miss as you drive into El Rito NM, but that would be a mistake! Superb hospitality, best burgers and home made Mexican food North of Santa Fe! Be sure to stop. Highly recommended.
