“Celebrating a graduation with family and had a reservation for a party of 10. We arrived timely and found the restaurant bursting at the seams. Had to wait for our table. Once seated we had to wait 20 minutes for menus. The hostess brought them to us one at a time as they were collected from other tables. The only timely event of the night was the taking of our order. Then it was 60 minutes for appetizers. There was one delivery of popcorn to hold us the 60 minutes. Entrees started to trickle out one at a time almost 2 hours after we were seated. Diners 1-5 were half finished with their meal when 6,7,8 and finally 9 got their meals. One in the party still had not gotten their entree when the rest of the table had completely finished. The breaking point of the night was when the missing pork chop entree that our 10th diner had ordered came out of the kitchen and was delivered to another table! After complaining to the wait staff we asked to speak to a manager. She came armed with excuses. So unprofessional. At that point there was no excuse in the world for the service that we received. Our final meal finally came out of the kitchen and 1-9 sat and stared while poor 10 ate. We were never offered coffee or dessert. They just wanted us out the door. Minimal adjustment was made to our bill. The pork chop was deducted and a vegetable we never received. At the last minute they extended a small gift card for our trouble. It was a family celebration that will be remembered as a disaster.”

“The Foundry is just a great place. Even though it was afternoon, we asked if we could have an Omelette, and they said sure. The Omelette was cooked perfectly, and the side portions of Potatoes was more that adequate. The potatoes were cooked to a golden brown, just the way they should be. Also it came with butter and Jelly for the side of toast. As of 6/24/19, the Foundry Cafe is now cooking their Home Fries with just a dash of Rosemary. The Rosemary gives the Home Fries a whole different level of flavor. I have never had home fries this good! The coffee here is always fresh, as they grind their beans here, in front of you, and the coffee is never bitter. Our waitress Sharron will greet you with a big welcome, and smile! No shrinking violet here! Sharron is part of the charm of this place. Also the Foundry Cafe is a NO CELL PHONE ZONE! Talk among yourselves. The Foundry Cafe is decorated with paintings by George Stevenson, a local artist, who has received great reviews in the NYC Art World.”

“I stayed here with family. It is very charming bed and breakfast. It has a great location, located near all the restaurants and shops in the quaint little town. It’s also located right near the train station so you can take a train ride down to the city. The rooms were nice and clean. The staff was super friendly and helpful. “I friggin’ love this place! I wish it was on the Main Street of Cold Spring because they offer quality food that is certainly in demand. They are an asset to Cold Spring and they make healthy but delicious meals and salads. They sell everything from tuna, chicken, pasts, fruit, bean salads, to sandwiches, soups, muffins & more. “The Absolute best!!! Clever and his family make you feel as you are part of their family. They have home cook food and it is flavorful and nice portions. They love to please so if you ever have an question ask them, they always take good care of me and my family as well as anyone I have ever sent there! You will not be disappointed! “As friendly a place as you will ever visit. We went on a Sunday afternoon so just had access to the brunch menu. Chicken and waffles, breakfast burrito, avocado toast were all very good. “We visited this restaurant on a Friday evening around 5:30 pm, there were two tables occupied in the restaurant part, but at the hibachi tables it was empty. At about 7:00 p.m. when we were getting ready to leave, one more hibachi table filled up. I like the idea that they have a lite menu, pay a little less and get a smaller portion. My son order that, and said he was satisfied, full, but not overfilled. Although I did not order that from the menu, I found that the servings of fried rice and noodles and chicken were small compared to other hibachi restaurants. The salad and dressing was delicious, the soup is good too. we ordered tempora which I have not done in a long time, that was well made and tasty also. my daughter, 12 years old, ordered the California roll. She said that was very good, my wife agreed. A few pieces of my chicken tasted like they were either freezer burned or refrigerated but not covered if that makes sense. The restaurant is very clean, the staff is very friendly. I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant for a visit.”
