“The service gets a 5-star rating but the quality and taste of the food is inconsistent. However, it is usually generally good. One of my favorite things is dhal puri and fish cake with sour and pepper sauce. I recently went in on a Saturday morning around 8:30 and got the dhal puri made to order! It was so hot and yummy! I love their pone but sometimes it’s super brown and then other times very pale. Recently had their chicken curry which was superb. The tripe and chicken cook-up rice left much to be desired. The provision and dumpling soup was also bland and kind of sweet due to the ripe plantains. Love their egg ball, cassava ball, fishcake and beef patties!”

“We visited Red Lotus Bakery & Cafe after seeing its poster of various pastry selections since my husband is a super fan of Hong Kong style bakery. The decor is authentic, clean and narrow-spaced with only 2 indoor dining tables available. We got 2 Pineapple Buns, a Taro Bun and a box of Pork Floss cake with Mayonnaise. The price is overall reasonable with proper portion. The buns were overall delicious and filled with plenty of flavorful fillings. However, the cake wasn't as delicate as what we expected, so we won't recommend it.”

“The Korean hot dogs here are crunchy and delicious. The girl asked if I wanted potatoes on my mozzarella hot dog and lychee in the strawberry ade. I saw everything she asked was like $0.99 extra but I was fine with that. Just be mindful that everything except the toppings listed will be extra. This is a small take out hut. There are two small tables inside but once a family with two kids came there were no seats left for us. We found a bench by the LIRR station. If you buy a drink across the street at the coffee shop you could also sit at one of their outdoor tables. I don't think these loaded hot dogs can really be eaten on the go. We forgot to take napkins and it got messy!”

“I’m honestly surprised this place gets bad reviews. I’ve recently moved to the area about a month ago and have come here multiple times and each time it’s been amazing. The bagels are delicious and the breakfasts sandwiches are great. There online ordering is extremely convenient as well. So you can order pick up...no waiting in lines or price surprise as I see to be issues with other reviews. If I had to choose I’d honestly say this is one of the top bagel spots in LIC and I would recommend this place to anyone.”
