“Went to Hummingbird for dinner on a Friday night in January. We ate in, but they had a busy takeout business that night. The ox tail entree was recommended to me, and it was delicious. My wife had the boneless jerk chicken, which was even better. Both came with rice and peas, cabbage, and plantains. We tried the pineapple ginger soda and the Peanut Punch drink, and enjoyed both. Excellent meal all around, pleasant atmosphere, and friendly people.”

“my best friend lives in area and I was excited to try this neighborhood restaurant/sports bar, off exit 63 on LIE., a day before Thanksgiving. this establishment is connected to Ramada Inn hotel/motel. Decor is circular seating. bar is at the center of floor plan. as we entered, that's the first visual. huge bar at center. cozy seating with visible dividers on upper patio where we sat (the hostess let us know, it was warmer there, which to me, was a nice gesture). Waiter Michael was attentive and nice. I ordered the Thai salad w/chicken and friend ordered steak salad. my salad was good and later my friend placed an order to go for her husband consisting of a pizza pie and wings for football game. no complaints.”

“I've been to this location twice. The first time I went with a bunch of friends and the food was great. This previous time, the food was also good but there was a small issue. The second time, we were seated and waited for 20 minutes with no waiter or waitress coming. It got to the point where we had to get up and ask for a waiter. The person who was supposed to wait on us apparently didn't know we were part of his area to wait on. The food came in a good amount of time, and everything tasted great. The wait staff was very friendly, he just didn't quite know what he was doing. I like this place, but this experience has made me give it 4 stars.”

“I had a huge pick up with door dash, the cashier was so sweet she helped me with my order, helped me put everything in bags. She made sure the orders were correct. This is how a fast food restaurant works with short staff, not like the smithtown McDonalds where you have uneducated, insensitive, unorganized, non customer service people taking your orders, making your food get cold, and not serve you drinks and having their customers issue charge backs.”

“The pizza was good! The bathroom was just cleaned! It was spotless. I had noticed a sign on the door, two slices and a bottle of soda for $6.50. Everyday special. When requested the Team Said that a bottle of soda wasn't included. It was supposed to be a fountain soda. After I declined the "Special Offer" I was offered a free fountain soda . It was really nice! I would definitely recommend this Pizza Place! They had a selection of cheese cakes as well as other dessert options inside of s little refrigerator right near the counter.”

“This Portuguese bakery is fantastic! The breads are soft and fresh. I order many loaves of sausage bread for holidays and some just for us. They are always made fresh and with plenty of sausage bits. I usually order a day or two before if I'm ordering more than 5 loaves, just to be sure they will have enough and they make them fresh the day of pickup. The staff are very friendly as well!”

“This was our second time at this wonderful restaurant. Food is so good. However, we were the only people there on a Friday night and felt rushed. We were still eating our appetizers and our dinner was brought out. To me, that is unacceptable. Unfortunately, because of that, we will probably never come back. “I like the food, but the men that work there have a bit of an attitude. In the few times where I've walked in and ordered or ordered on the phone, when dealing with the men, or possibly the same man, there was a bit of an edge to his voice. Yes, it's stressful to own a business, but a smile goes a long way when there are so many competing businesses in the area. Also, when someone calls in an order and requests a salad with cheese, when you forget the cheese or missed the request, admit it, don't blame the customer for not asking for cheese. Make it better, offer a free salad next time they come in. Will I be back, yes, but I won't go out of my way to make sure I eat there and I definitely won't order delivery.”

I used to go there and get a Jim Dandy ( 4 scoops of ice cream ) for about $5, now, not only is it almost $8 but they also took a scoop of ice cream out, ( only 3 scoops now ). I know there is cost of living increases, but you can't charge more AND give less. Just my opinion. Won't be back there anytime soon. I'll stick with Carvel.”
