“What a nice surprise. With the bad weather I decided to stay at the hospital for the night. I went in and the place was packed. It was full of just awesome country music with a live band. The staff were friendly. The barbecue is very good and the bread for the bun was awesome. The collards were flavorful and well done. A nice corn muffin and I saved Brunswick stew for lunch tomorrow.”

“Almost a year later and this place still had the best London Fog I’ve ever had. Also good cinnamon rolls. The guys running it were super nice. The inside needs some decorating”

“I have to say, I have traveled the world and visited 1000s of places to eat. Spending 3 days in Banner Elk, I went back to this place 4 times. Ed and his staff were absolutely amazing. The food was world class and the hospitality was beyond anything I have seen in years. I would recommend this place to everyone that is in the area, even if you have to drive to get there. You will NOT be disappointed. Thank you Ed for the incredible food and wonderful memories. I'll tell all the guys at the Embassy about you.”

The staff is very accommodating; the food selection is innovative, interesting, and simply delicious – from the appetizers, through the entrees, and finally to the wonderful selection of deserts! An excellent experience; we highly recommend a visit to Reid’s!”

“Any time your visiting Grandfather Mountain, make sure you stop by the fudge shop to get their awesome fudge. Help support this place for future visitors to enjoy. This is one of North Carolina's best natural scenic spots preserved for all to enjoy and learn from. Whether your trail hiking with beautiful views or crossing the swinging bridge to feel the wind roaring up the gorge underneath you blowing your hair straight up in the air. Be sure to visit the gift shop, restaurant and again I say, "Fudge Shop".”

“Good stop for a family visit to Grandfather Mountain. It's inside the park gates, close to the mile high bridge or the animals. Standard family fare- sandwiches, burgers, fries, ice cream - a veggie burger option. Several good high chairs (the ones with straps that click - we have toddler twins, so these things matter to us!). Overall a nice family pitstop.”
