“My first visit here. Our waitress was Sherry, she was very knowledgeable on food choices as well as drinks. We took her suggestions and everyone truly enjoyed their meal. The fried calamari was absolutely delicious, best I have ever had and it is my favorite appetizer. My only regret was that I did not have room for desert. Thank you to the chef and kitchen staff but especially Sherry for her input and excellent service.”

“Cox Family Restaurant was cozy diner that had pretty much anything you and your family could want. It's safe to say the locals choose this place. Not to mention everything we ordered and ate was delicious! Also it was very inexpensive. Me and my boyfriend were both stuffed and satisfied with to go boxes for $16! I absolutely recommend stopping by for breakfast lunch or dinner. We had lunch and next time we're back in Morehead City we will dine here again.”

“There was such a HUGE variety of all different kinds of food! From Crown Joe's Chicken, two mashed potatoes and gravy and pot roast, to the biggest salad bar with everything you would want on it cold, guacamole!, was fantastic, then you have the men cooking the steaks on the Hot Grill right in front of you! It was honestly the best food that I've ate in a long time! Honestly, it was so good when me and can eat there, that we went back again two nights later " took me that long to digest my food LOL" that we went back again and our hearts were content. I would definitely recommend this to anyone and everyone!”

“Five star for a quaint little diner, not a gourmet seafood place! The Google menu is horribly wrong, I have posted pictures of their actual menu. My husband got the fried pork chops, he says they were four star chops, so still pretty good. We also got fried okra, a waffle, french toast, and their crab cake sandwich. The waffle and french toast were good, typical morning breakfast food. The crab cake was surprisingly good! It wasn't so crispy but the flavor was great, it comes as a sandwich but I got it plain and didn't eat the bun, just the cake. The coffee is also good flavor. It is a nice little diner, good prices and good food.”

“I've been meaning to email the owner of this restaurant for almost a month now. Since I'm sitting here looking at Google maps, I might as well just write a review. Smithfields is my favorite place to stop and grab a bite to eat when we visit Atlantic Beach. It's unusual but this year we stopped in twice, our first night there and our last night there. The last night was to grab some take out for everyone else back home here in PA who could not make the trip. Both times we had amazing service. But, our last night there, getting ready for our trip home, the service was AMAZING. The person who I believe was a manager was extremely helpful, we were picking up a few pints of BBQ to take home and a couple of bags of hush puppies, he make sure everything sat correctly in the bag and even put in some extra "stuffing" to make sure nothing fell over. The rest of the staff was extremely polite and took care of me and my family like we were old friends. Lets talk about the Fried chicken for a moment though... I thoroughly enjoy me some Smithfield's BBQ, but my god was that chicken delicious. Super crispy, the meat was perfectly moist. It was cooked to perfection. Again I want to say thank you to the staff who were there on the night of July 20th. You were all amazing and I thank you for that!”

“So I know the ins and outs of Bojangles. I know that biscuits are to be thrown out if not sold within a certain amount of time, etc. I also know those limits within any quick service environment are pushed. But I do not want hard, crusty boberrys!! And that is what I received on this trip. I was deeply disappointed. The servers were courteous and my wait time in the drive thru was not long at all. My order was what I wanted and my other food was good. They just messed up my "sweet tooth." Hope that was a fluke.”
