“Nobody makes a ham biscuit like Bojangles. My cousin introduced me to them. And they'll cook it good and brown if you ask. They don't act like they mind doing it either. The staff here are very nice and friendly. I spilled my drink and before I could do anything a guy was there helping me out. He sat my tray on a table and got me another drink. You really appreciate it when someone is there when you need them.”

The only minor problems I have found is that the guacamole is flavorful but puréed and the ground beef is not seasoned very well and at times not at all. They have a great combos menu and daily specials; I would recommend eating here at least once.”

“I was pleasantly surprised. I got the Shrimp Lo Mein and an egg roll to go. The dinner was great. The portion was big. They even gave me rice along with it. The guy at the counter had a great personality (rare around Shelby sometimes). The dinner was nice and hot by the time I got home. It was awesome. I'll be back again!!”

“I rated it 3 stars due to the negative atmosphere. Atmosphere is a big deal to me. On the way home from the mountains, my family and I stopped off to eat lunch at Ken and Mary's in Shelby. The food was great and the people who worked there were very nice. The only thing that really, really irritated me was that most of the patrons looked so hateful. There were people of all ages but most of them looked to be over 60. They didn't say hello or smile back when I smiled at them. They just looked grumpy and angry. Most were dressed up in suits and dresses so I figured they had just left church since it was Sunday. That's sad to be that way right after leaving church. They need to have a conversation with my pastor. He has such a sweet nature and spirit and wouldn't dare behave that way. You can't win souls to Christ if you act and look like the devil.”

“If I lived in Shelby I would eat here at least once a week. I have only had the Pad Thai and Tiger Chicken Nachos. Been eating here for at least 8 years. I have trouble trying something different because the Pad Thai and Nachos are so delicious. I have never had anything like them ANYWHERE. The ingredients are so fresh. Other family members have tried the hamburgers, lasagna etc. They claim it is all first class. Then there is Joe. I have never been in there, day or night, when he has not checked on us. He and his staff are very attentive. I wish he had a location in Gastonia. I believe he would need 2 to 3 times the building and staff.”

The color scheme is very pleasant and the decor is apropos. We very much enjoyed our lunch.The menu was still under development but included some nicely elevated comfort foods such as a hot dog, burger, salads, soups and sandwiches. It should be noted that also offer a small selection of bakery sweets. This cafe would fit comfortably in any mid to upscale eatery district. Two thumbs up! Update; It does seem a little better cool temperature wise. Bring a sweater.”

We were greeted right away..we both had the chicken parmeson which came with a beautiful salad and a basket of garlic bread. It was yummy and the portions are big u will not leave hungry. “Visited while in town and was surprised to find such an excellent Mexican restaurant in Shelby. I had a combination (vegetarian) plate and it was excellent. I had a margarita which was also excellent. We were there with a knowledgeable local who said it was a really good restaurant. Service was good. Pretty much a brightly lit, family environment, but not too noisy.”

“The food is great and most employees are nice except for a cashier that felt she needed to argue with husband about his card having issues in front of other customers. It was no one else's business that my husband had issues with his card not wanting to be read by the machine, but the cashier kept saying his card was denied when in reality it was not. It wasn't being read by the machine. She was also not very pleasant. So her service I would not even rate anything.”

“I have been coming to this place since I was a little girl. There are so many memories here. However, after returning from a 3-4 year break; I am a little disappointed. Everything is becoming more and more outdated from the furniture and bar to the restrooms. The food is still exceptional; which matters the most in my opinion. We personally requested the cheeseburger pizza. It came out rather quickly and was delicious! I will say that the bar on the salad side was very messy. Dressing was dried on the counter and a mixture of lettuce and toppings were everywhere. But this is a buffet and this kind of thing is to be expected during busy hours. I would recommend eating here if you don’t want to, “dress up,” and just be comfortable.”

“It's good for what it is. I don't go to McDonald's for excellent food, I go because it's cheap and convenient and honestly it's not bad for fast food. There are 4 self-service ordering screens and one human cashier. I went to the human. She was polite and competent. By the time I filled my drink, I only had to wait about a minute for my food to be ready. They got the order right and the store was clean. Overall a good fast food experience.”
